Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. After the year 2000, all Olympic Games take place in randomly chosen cities.

Answer: True

The Olympic Games from 1956 through 2000 take place in this game where the actual Summer Games took place historically. However, in 2004 to 2020, the city is randomly chosen based on the performance of airlines during game play.
2. Which South American city does NOT appear in the game?

Answer: Bogotá, Colombia

The other cities in the South American region are Havana, Cuba; Kingston, Jamaica; and both Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo in Brazil. Apparently the creators thought only the northern half of South America and the Caribbean were important enough to include in this game. In fact, Bogotá is still in actuality the hub of South America's oldest airline, Avianca.
3. What do your operatives say when they begin to open a regional hub in a new region?

Answer: I'll get right on it

The game is designed in Japan, so the answers are usually matter-of-fact. However, the answer here is a little more familiar.
4. What is the maximum number of routes one airline can operate?

Answer: Forty

The Super Nintendo game unit had limited memory, so route capacity was limited to forty routes. Forty routes is the maximum and it includes routes between regions. It makes you have to choose which routes you wish to keep when you have good competitors.
5. The Airbus A380 is the largest aircraft in this game.

Answer: False

While the Airbus A380 is the largest commercial aircraft now available, it had not yet been conceived when this game was created. The largest aircraft in "Aerobiz Supersonic" is the Boeing HJ2000 Hyper-Jumbo; a fictional aircraft.
6. When routes are losing money, what color is their route indicator on the maps?

Answer: Red

Red shows up quite brilliantly and it screams loudly at your mind to let you know you need to fix it. All profitable routes are shown in black.
7. The only circumstance in which a United States-based airline is unable to purchase Russian aircraft is until after Glasnost?

Answer: False

If the Russian government appeals to you for aid - even before Glasnost (that is the Soviet program known as "openness"), and you are playing a U.S. based airline and grant that aid, relations will improve for you and you may then purchase Russian aircraft.
8. Which Airbus aircraft is NOT sold during the first time period of play?

Answer: No Airbus aircraft are available

The first Airbus aircraft that becomes available is during the second time period of play is the Airbus A300. The A300 and A310 are available at the beginning of the third time period in this game. The A340 is introduced in near the end of the third time period and is available throughout the forth.
9. Which of the businesses listed below is not enhanced directly by any type of advertising?

Answer: City Hotel

The Pleasure Boat falls under the recreational category, the Ferry under airport services, and the Convention Center under cultural facilities. The City Hotel is basically just an additional money maker for the player- that is if the hotel is successful.
10. Which of these aircraft for sale in "Aerobiz Supersonic" is fictional?

Answer: McDonnell-Douglas MD-12

The Lockheed Super Constellation was a mainstay for many U.S. Airlines including TWA in the 1950s and early 1960s. The Boeing 747-200 was one of the more popular configurations of the 747 series, and the Tupeloz Tu-204 is currently manufactured. However, since Boeing purchased McDonnell-Douglas soon after production of the MD-11 was introduced, there was no time to release a model 12.
