1. This regal character dresses nicely in pink and she never looks CHEAP.

Answer: Peach

Princess Peach is the ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. She first appeared in the video game 'Super Mario Bros.', which was originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985. Outside of Japan she was initially known as Princess Toadstool but began the transition to Peach in 'Super Mario 64', which was first issued in 1996 for the Nintendo 64.

The Princess has appeared in many of the video games in the main 'Mario' series as well as in spin-off games and series of games. At least in the main series, she often has the role of a 'damsel in distress' who is not necessarily helpless but is generally rescued by the plumber, Mario, with help from his brother and fellow plumber, Luigi.

Knuckles the Echidna is a character in many of the 'Sonic the Hedgehog' games. He first appeared in 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3', which was initially issued for the Sega Genesis in 1994. In this game he is tricked by the evil Dr Robotnik into regarding Sonic as an enemy and fighting him.

However, in a later 1994 game for the Sega Genesis, 'Sonic and Knuckles', where he first becomes a playable character, Knuckles the Echidna grows aware of Dr Robotnik's treachery and changes to being Sonic's ally and then friend. Knuckles is very strong and good at punching as well as being able to glide and to climb walls with the help of the spikes on his gloves.

The character Bowser has been an enemy of Mario in many of the games in the 'Mario' series since his first appearance in the 1985 release for the Nintendo Entertainment System of the video game 'Super Mario Bros.' He has been referred to by different titles over the years, for instance King Koopa.

His role in the main Super Mario series usually involves imprisoning Princess Peach and trying to take over the Mushroom Kingdom while Mario and his brother, Luigi, attempt to foil his plans. Bowser also appears in many of the other games involving characters from the main series and sometimes plays different roles in these.
4. As a hero of many games, this character would probably escape even if shut in a KILN.

Answer: Link

Link is the hero of 'The Legend of Zelda' video games and has to solve puzzles and acquire objects to help him battle evil opponents. The first of these video games, 'The Legend of Zelda', was originally brought out in Japan in 1986 for the Famicom Disk System, a peripheral for Nintendo's Family Computer home video game console.

This turned out to be the first game in a long-running series. The character Link and the setting of the games are not always the same but usually Link works to save his world from the evil entity who is trying to take it over.

He also generally saves a female character who has been kidnapped - often Princess Zelda - and she in turn may help him to defeat the villain.

Answer: King Boo

King Boo is an evil ghost whose kingdom is the Paranormal Dimension and who is an adversary of the plumber brothers, Mario and Luigi. In 'Luigi's Mansion' and in later games in the same series, Luigi is the main hero while Mario has a supporting role and King Boo is the main antagonist. King Boo has also appeared with somewhat different characteristics in other games, such as the 'Super Mario' and 'Mario Kart' series.

In this game she is captured by an evil Metal Sonic and rescued by Sonic and she appears in a number of games in the 'Sonic' series and its spin-offs, both as a playable and non-playable character.

She is generally obsessed with Sonic, following him around even though he does not return her feelings and can try and evade her. Amy Rose looks very feminine but has a hot temper and can make skilful use of her powerful Piko Piko Hammer against opponents when she needs to.
7. She helped to defeat an evil villain but this fairy is currently trying in VAIN to remember her exact name.

The fairy who appears in 'Hyrule Warriors', which was first issued for the Nintendo Wii U in 2014 and is a spin-off from the 'Legend of Zelda' series, is named as Navi in the North American edition but not given a name in the versions released in Europe and Japan.

In this game he cannot fly but in later games he develops and refines the ability to do so by rotating both tails at the same time and he can also pilot an aeroplane and is a mechanical genius. 'Tails' not only has a role in many of the 'Sonic' games but also stars in his own series of video games.

In this game Tetra aids the hero Link and is revealed as an incarnation of Princess Zelda of Hyrule. In the later 'The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass', a game produced in 2007 for the Nintendo DS, Tetra is captured by the villain and rescued by Link, as Zelda often is in other games.

A depiction of Tetra also appears in a stained glass window in 'The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks', a game issued for the Nintendo DS in 2009.
