Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which Kong will save your game?

Answer: Wrinkly

Just like she did from her Kong Kollege in "Donkey Kong Country 2", Wrinkly Kong will save the game's progress for you if you stop in at her Save Cave. Wrinkly also functions as a bird-sitter. The more Banana Birds you can find, the more she'll house in her cavern until you need to use them at the very, very end of the game.

Candy Kong, who used her Save Barrel in the first "Donkey Kong Country", does not appear in this game.
2. Which animal companion can shoot water?

Answer: Ellie

Ellie the Elephant is one of the few newcomers to appear in this game. Seemingly replacing the no-show Rambi the Rhino, Ellie has a couple of useful powers, particularly making use of her strong trunk, able to pick up barrels and fire them from afar (by breathing in) and by sucking up water to shoot in front of her (kind of the same way Squitter fires webs). On the flip-side, Ellie is also afraid of mice, and will not hesitate to flee in the opposite direction should she see one up close.
3. Which of these vehicles is the first given to the Kongs by Funky?

Answer: Motor Boat

Although all four of these are unlocked over the course of the game (and, in the case of the Gyrocopter, only if you do your best to collect pretty much everything), the Kongs need to cross the deep bay at the south of the map to get to the first area of the game, Lake Orangatanga. To do that, Funky pairs Dixie up with Kiddy Kong and gives them a Motor Boat for free. To get the Hovercraft they need a patch (gotten from Arach after the second boss battle) and to get the Turbo Ski they need two skis (gotten from Squirt and KAOS, the third and fourth bosses, respectively).
4. In how many regions of the game do the Kongs battle KAOS?

Answer: Two

KAOS is the final boss of the game's fourth stage, Mekanos, and he's also found at the beginning of the seventh boss battle in KAOS Kore. In both cases, this rattling tin can, created by K. Rool (as Baron Von Roolenstein) to harness the power of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong for his own personal uses) can be defeated by jumping on its head a few times. Defeating KAOS will eventually show Dixie and Kiddy who's hiding behind the curtain, of course, and a battle with K. Rool himself will ensue after the second encounter late in the game.
5. Which of these is not the name of one of the Brothers Bear?

Answer: Banshee

Overall there is a total of thirteen Brothers Bear from Baffle to Brash, all of whom have names starting with the letter B. The first of these, Bazaar, is on the starting island before you even travel to the first main destination (Lake Orangatanga); you can visit his shop to barter for items with Bear Coins. Barter, meanwhile, is found between stages as well and will be willing to trade items if you have something he wants. Bjorn runs a broken chairlift atop Razor Ridge.
6. Do Warp Barrels exist in this game?

Answer: Yes

Warp Barrels are particularly interesting in this game. Covered in stars (like a Save Barrel midway through a level) and a large, white W, the Warp Barrel is, more often than not, invisible until hit by one of the Kongs. Warp Barrels will allow Kongs to speed directly to the end of the level, skipping all obstacles en route. Such barrels, however, only exist in the first third of the game, appearing in all of Lake Orangatanga and Kremwood Forest and nowhere else.
7. Which of these coins does not appear in the game?

Answer: Banana Coin

Banana Coin were a one-time thing in "Donkey Kong Country 2" used by Diddy and Dixie to pay for Wrinkly's Kong Kollege (specifically the save function and her info), Funky's Flights, and Swanky's Sideshow. Likewise, Kremcoins, which appeared in that game, did not return this time around.

Instead their function was taken over by Bonus Coins. Bear Coins are used to purchase items from Bazaar the Bear, DK Coins are found in every level, and Bonus Coins can be found after Bonus Barrels and certain bosses.
8. Which of these enemies can only be found in one level of the game?

Answer: Koindozer

Koindozers, similar to their kin, Koins, have a helmet and carry with them a large, metal shield which they use to protect themselves and push the Kongs off the edge of the map. Koins, unlike the correct answer, carry DK Coins on their shield; there's no such benefit to the Koindozer Klamber level of KAOS Kore (except the typical single one).

It's the only level to contain the aggressive Koindozers. Red Buzzes, Green Kocos, and Klasps are all fairly common enemies.
9. An Ignition Barrel, shown with a picture of a flame on the front, can only be found in one level.

Answer: True

Like FUEL Barrels, Ignition Barrels only appear in the final platforming level of the game-- Rocket Rush in Krematoa. In this stage, all the Kongs need to do is hop into a barrel shaped like a rocket, drop to the ground while collecting FUEL Barrels, and then jet up through the rocky cliffs to the end.

When this is done, they'll collect a final gear and be able to face off against K. Rool one last time on his submersible ship, the Knautilus.
10. How many Banana Birds can be found in the game?

Answer: Fifteen

Although the number was increased to twenty in the GBA version of the game, the fifteen Banana Birds in the SNES version is probably a bit much as-is (considering Wrinkly has to look after them all). Thirteen of them can be found in various hidden caves scattered around the maps of the game while two are traded to you by the Brothers Bear-- one for a shell and one for a flower.

When all of them are found, the Kongs can visit the Banana Bird Queen and she'll dispose of K. Rool once and for all.
