Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Argon - Calcium - Nickel - Neon

Answer: Arcanine

Arcanine is a fire-type Pokemon which appears to be a mixture of a tiger, a lion, and a dog. Its fur is orange with black stripes like a tiger, but it has a light-colored mane like a lion. Arcanine is a special Pokemon which evolves from a Growlithe only if the trainer uses a Fire Stone on the creature.

It typically fights with normal or fire-type attacks such as Flamethrower. In the original "Pokemon" animated series, Gary Oak (Ash Ketchum's rival) owns an Arcanine.
2. Polonium - Lithium - Tungsten - Silver

Answer: Poliwag

Poliwag is a water-type Pokemon which looks like a blue tadpole. Its most significant feature, however, is a large black swirl on the creature's abdomen. The swirl's direction differs from creature to creature depending on the location the Pokemon is found. Poliwag uses mainly water attacks such as Water Gun and Bubblebeam. It also has the ability to evolve into a Poliwhirl.
3. Gallium - Sulfur - Thallium - Yttrium

Answer: Gastly

Gastly is one of the few ghost Pokemon. It appears as a large black ball of ghostly matter but is surrounded by an eerie purple aura. It also features large white eyes and a mouth with sharp fangs. Gastly uses ghost-type attacks such as Lick and Night Shade, but it has also been known to use psychic attacks such as Dream Eater and Hypnosis. It evolves into a Haunter.
4. Hydrogen - Yttrium - Phosphorus - Nitrogen - Oxygen

Answer: Hypno

Hypno is a psychic-type Pokemon with yellow skin and a white furry mane. It carries a pendulum with it at all times as its main ability involves putting other beings to sleep. Not only does it know Hypnosis, but it can also learn other Psychic moves such as Psybeam.

It evolves from a Drowzee. In the "Pokemon" animated series, a special Hypno was used to aid villagers with insomnia. However, the sleep effects of its ability caused problems with nearby Pokemon and children.
5. Potassium - Radium - Boron - Boron - Yttrium

Answer: Krabby

Krabby is a water-type Pokemon which is based off an ordinary crab. It uses water-type attacks such as Bubblebeam, but it primarily uses normal attacks such as Vice Grip and Guillotine. At level 28, it evolves into a Kingler. In the animated series, Ash Ketchum first uses his Krabby in the Pokemon League tournaments.

After its first battle against Exeggutor, Krabby evolves into Kingler.
6. Copper - Boron - Oxygen - Neon

Answer: Cubone

Cubone is a ground-type Pokemon. It is small in stature and wears a large skull on its head. Though technically a ground Pokemon with attacks such as bone club and boomerang, Cubone uses mostly normal attacks such as Headbutt and Rage. Cubone itself is orphaned after birth, and so it is also known as the "lonely Pokemon". It evolves into Marowak at level 28.
7. Radium - Iodine - Carbon - Hydrogen - Uranium

Answer: Raichu

Raichu is an electric rodent Pokemon which is the evolved form of the popular Pikachu. Raichu is brown in color and features a lightning-shaped tail. Raichu may only be evolved from Pikachu with the use of a Thunder Stone. Like its pre-evolved form, Raichu uses electric attacks such as Thunderbolt and Shockwave. Though Raichu is more powerful than Pikachu, it is not nearly as fast.

In the "Pokemon" animated series, Lt. Surge (gym leader of Vermilion City) uses his Raichu against Ash Ketchum.
8. Phosphorus - Indium - Sulfur - Iridium

Answer: Pinsir

Pinsir is a bug Pokemon with a brown body and two large pairs of white horns on its head. Pinsir's horns are extremely powerful as the are able to crush logs to splinters and list objects nearly twice the Pinsir's weight. Though not technically classified as a fighting-type Pokemon, Pinsir has the ability to learn numerous fighting attacks such as Submission.

In "Pokemon Snap", Pinsir's shadow can only be attained by powering the electrical machinery in the tunnel.
9. Lanthanum - Praseodymium - Arsenic

Answer: Lapras

Lapras is a water Pokemon which resembles a dinosaur named a plesiosaur. It is a blue Pokemon with black eyes, a long neck, and a short horn on top of its head. It also carries a large gray shell on its back which is used for defense. Lapras uses water-type attacks such as Rain Dance and Water Pulse, but it also has the ability to Sing, causing its opponents to fall into a deep sleep. Lapras are nearly extinct due to over-hunting, but a few may still be found in arctic regions.
10. Fluorine - Lanthanum - Rhenium - Oxygen - Nitrogen

Answer: Flareon

Flareon is one of the many evolved forms of the Pokemon Eevee, but it can only be attained by the use of a Fire Stone. As such, Flareon uses fire-type attacks such as Ember and Fire Fang. Flareon is covered in orange fur, but it has a yellow tail and mane.

It also has the ability to store thermal energy within it body. When Flareon blows fire from its mouth, the flames can reach temperatures of nearly 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit.
