A common mistake made by many people is that you play as Solid Snake, but you actually play as somebody who looks and sounds exactly like him in this game, with the codename Naked Snake. A big hint would be that this game takes place in 1964 and the preceding games are in the late 2000s.

2. What does Snake mistakenly call the Virtuous Mission during the briefing?

Answer: Virtual Mission

Operation Snake Eater is the name of the mission that follows the Virtuous Mission. Major Zero then corrects his mistake.

3. What is Colonel Volgin known as in America?

Answer: Thunderbolt

Voyevoda is the Russian name of The Boss, which translates as "Mother of Special Forces". The other two are made up.

4. What well known character from the other games appears in this one?

Answer: Revolver Ocelot

Ocelot, who was in both "Metal Gear Solid" and "Metal Gear Solid 2" appears as a young Russian Major. He doesn't use his famous revolvers at first, until after his first confrontation with Snake. Roy Campbell and Grey Fox both appear in "Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops" and Miller appears in "Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker".

The name Cynthia was taken from one of the most successful spies in the real world. Suzetta is the name of Eva's voice actress, Suzetta Minet. Lee is the name of her voice actress in "Metal Gear Solid 4" Lee Meriweather. Naomi is the name of an entirely different character.

8. Does Snake drive a motorcycle to escape after destroying the Shagohod hanger?

Answer: No

Eva is the one driving. Snake is shooting from the sidecar.

Answer: True

When the fight starts, it is silent. Five minutes in, an instrumental version of Snake Eater will play. Three minutes in, the vocalized version will kick in. When the song ends, you run out of time.

10. Who wins the game of Russian Roulette in Snake and Ocelot's final showdown?

Answer: This depends on the player

Before the game, Ocelot inserts one bullet into one revolver, then juggles two of them. He places them on the floor. You then take control, and pick one. The one on the left is the loaded one. If you pick it, you can either not fire, purposely miss, or shoot Ocelot only to find out it's a blank. If you pick the one on the right, Ocelot will always hit you, but it will still be a blank.
