Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Of what campaign is Malabog's Castle based off of?

Answer: Sharandar

Malabog's Castle is based off of the Sharandar. After listening to the campaign's NPCs complain about evil Fomorian King Malabog for so many missions, here, the players finally has the chance to take the fight to Malabog's Castle. The Epic Dungeon has three bosses, and the enemies in it are from the Sharandar campaign; expect to fight a healthy dosage of Redcaps of all kinds, Trolls and Cyclops.
2. Is King Malabog the Epic Dungeon's final boss?

Answer: No

Malabog is the Epic Dungeon's second boss, but he is not the final boss. The final boss is the terrifying tandem of Valindra Shadowmantle and her ravenous dragon Fulminorax. You do not fight Valindra directly, nor does she really fight you head on, however. Valindra provides Fulminorax with support.

This support comes in two ways: occasionally selecting a player at random to "choke out", a technique which involves her necromantic powers lifting a random player into the air and draining them of their health. If the player in question attempted the fight alone, they're dead. If they brought party members, the party must immediately drop whatever they are doing and fight Valindra off in order to release the player from her nasty grip before death.

The other method of support Valindra provides comes twice in the fight. When Fulminorax hits 75% and 25% health, it will fly away and Valindra will begin to randomly bombard the battlefield with magical explosions. Unlike Valindra's Tower, these explosions are not instant killers.

They do tons of damage, but most well built characters who are not Control Wizards or Hunter Rangers will be able to survive at least one explosion, giving a significantly greater room for error here.
3. What is the required Item Level to be able to enter the public queue for this Epic Dungeon?

Answer: 7,500

Malabog's Castle is unique in that its Item Level requirement is the same whether you are entering a public or private queue. Much like other Epic Dungeons, when played publicly, you will be required to have one tank, one healer and three DPS loadouts.
4. Playing off one of its smaller missions, Malabog's Castle is unique in that a portion of the time spent in between fighting bosses is spent doing something else other than simply running through and slaughtering everything in your path! Early on in the Dungeon, you come across a series of War Machines and Catapults. What are you meant to do with these?

Answer: Destroy them

The Fomorian War Machines that the campaign mentions are ones that must be destroyed. This is a crucial aspect of this Epic Dungeon, and one that, through completion, deals a critical blow to Malabog's war supplies, crushing any chance he would have had of seriously threatening Sharandar and, by association, Neverwinter.
5. Not to be outdone by the Dungeon's second and final bosses, the first boss of Malabog's Castle provides quite the challenge. What is their name?

Answer: Krol Nightforge

Krol Nightforge is the nastiest Cyclops in all of Sharandar. Sporting a standard set of tools but being the largest Cyclops in the area, he is brutalizing force to face.
6. Malabog's Castle was not a part of the original game. It was added by the very first update the game had ever seen on August 22, 2013. What was the name of the module?

Answer: Fury of the Feywild

This huge update added quite a few new things to the game. In addition to the Sharandar campaign and this Epic Dungeon, it also added the Masters of the Hunt Skirmish and it introduced boons to the game as a whole.
7. After defeating each boss and opening the Treasure Chest at the end of the experience, you will receive a maximum of 170 Seals. What type of Seals are these?

Answer: Elements

On your first run through the Epic Dungeon, you will receive eighty Seals of the Elements after completing it. You receive twenty of these Seals for defeating Krol Nightforge and King Malabog, and another thirty for defeating Fulminorax and Valindra. You get the last thirty from the Treasure Chest.
8. What item is required to open the Treasure Chest at the end of the Dungeon?

Answer: Malabog's Castle Key

A fairly straightforward item, the Malabog's Castle Key can be crafted via the Sharandar campaign. This key can be crafted if you have three Gold, twenty Gold Crescents and ten Feywild Spark.
9. Fulminorax and Valindra make for a terrifying duo, but there is an underrated element to this fight that makes it even harder to take on with a team, much less alone. What magical device does Valindra summon that can very easily, if left unaddressed, overwhelm the party?

Answer: Infernal Portals

Much like Valindra's Tower, these Portals can be serious trouble. However, these Portals are much more threatening than the ones at Valindra's Tower, since the monsters they summon are much more powerful and bulkier than the ones seen at Valindra's Tower.
10. After slaying Fulminorax, Valindra is furious with you! Is Fulminorax dead for good?

Answer: No

Valindra cries out in surprise at your actions before mentioning she will simply bring Fulminorax back from the dead. After doing this, Valindra will curse out Malabog in contempt and teleport away from the scene.
