Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This character is closely related to one of the hidden characters. Although the character is little he can pack quite a powerful punch if used correctly. In fact, the potential of this player is so high they should have been the hidden character but unfortunately was a regular one.

Answer: Kirby

Kirby is probably my favorite character to use as he can copy the "B" moves of anyone. Kirby has a very close resemblance to Jigglypuff who can lull people to sleep but yet can still get beaten.
2. Quite possibly the most persistent character as the whole cast goes. This fighter can take up to almost 200% to 300% and still not get knocked off. He has appeared as early as the NES and is the only character capable of having a kamikaze toss.

Answer: Donkey Kong

Donkey Kong was the second character to appear with Mario as technically Cranky Kong was the first in "Donkey Kong". Donkey Kong later appeared as Donkey Kong Jr. in the game "Donkey Kong Jr.". Donkey Kong can be a kamikaze thrower as he can pick up his enemies and jump off a cliff with them still in his clutches.

He is the most powerful character as strength goes but he is also the slowest.
3. This hidden character is only credited with having only one game in their profile. The characters "Up B" move does not give them a triple jump unless used wisely.

Answer: Ness

Ness the little psychic kid from "Earthbound" for the SNES is definitely the hardest character to get. You have to beat Normal mode or higher with only 3 lives (the max for the requirement) without continuing. Quite a feat even for the pros.
4. Using a vast variety of sci-fi weaponery, this character is probably Donkey Kong's opposite character. However in this game the fighter finally gets to show their moves.

Answer: Fox

Fox McCloud has been the star of both "Star Fox" for the Super Nintendo and "Star Fox 64" for the N64. His father was James McCloud and was revealed that he was still alive in "Star Fox 64" but his whereabouts are unknown now. He is Donkey Kong's opposite as he is the fastest character but he is also the weakest as damage goes.
5. This character has appeared in several games but was neglected a bit more on the debut of his partners game. However he was given his own game on the system. It was a new experiment by Nintendo called 2 1/2 D. He also has two throw moves if one move is used correctly.

Answer: Yoshi

Yoshi the friendly dinosaur made his most popular debut on the game "Super Mario World" for the SNES. He was neglected in "Super Mario 64" however he did appear on the roof of the castle to give you 100 lives once you got all 120 stars and he also gave you a new triple jump. Yoshi appeared in his own game called "Yoshi's Story" for the N64 and was constructed as Nintendo called it 2 1/2 D.

His move lay egg can be used as a throw move as swallowing the character and laying them off a cliff.
6. This is a very quick character and the sole purpose of it's "Up B" move is to get back to the stage even though it does have attack in the name of the attack.

Answer: Pikachu

Pikachu is the lovable little electric Pokémon that gets extremely annoying after it keeps on saying "Pika" or "Pi" or "Pikachu". The little creature is a very good character though. It made it's debut on "Pokemon" for the Game Boy but later moved to new games like "Hey You, Pikachu" and "Pokemon Yellow" it has also appeared as a camera and a giga pet.

The hint was trying to hint to Ash Ketchum which is Pikachu's owner.
7. This character has some of the more powerful attacks. The character is also a fast person and has very good evasive skills by pressing Z during a specific move. At least one of their moves is fire elemental.

Answer: Samus

This was the first time Samus was ever seen in 3D. Samus Aran was the female bounty hunter that appeared in the "Metroid" series. She isn't the fastest but her ability to roll into a ball by pressing Z while charging her Blaster shot is useful. Her up A ability turns her gun into a flame thrower. She is the only other characters besides Link that has the bomb moves.
8. As described in "Nintendo Power" this character was known as Purin. This character is possibly the weakest character that can be knocked away very easily.

Answer: Jigglypuff

Anyway, Jigglypuff's name is Purin in Japanese making it therefore the only possible correct answer. Jigglypuff can be unlocked by simply beating the game. Jigglypuff is not my character of choice however, it's Down-B move rest is good when pulled off with dead-on accuracy. It does not have an Up-B move but the ability for it to jump several times, just like Kirby makes up for it.
9. A very popular character but not in many games. He makes several cameo appearances in games but is often neglected. He can do an attack that does 1% damage by something that is not referred to as an attack.

Answer: Luigi

Luigi, Mario's younger brother, has almost the same attacks as Mario. His attacks although are more powerful and his fireball does not bounce. His fighter stance has him kicking his leg as embarrased and it can do damage. Luigi can be unlocked by completing the "Bonus 1 Practice" for all 8 initial characters.
10. This character appeared on the very first commercial for the game doing their fighter stance. This is one of the more popular Nintendo character appearing in all systems.

Answer: Mario

Mario and Donkey Kong were in the first commercial and it showed Mario growing which was his fighter stance and it showed DK winding up his Giant Punch Move. Mario has been Nintendo's mascot ever since it opened and has had to rescue Princess Daisy and Peach too many times and has appeared in many games. He is also a sportsman appearing in "Mario Golf", "Mario Tennis" and "MarioKart".
11. This character like Fox is very fast and can finally shown what he is made of. This character's moves are mostly fire elemental.

Answer: Captain Falcon

OK I gave you an easy one. Captain Falcon has appeared in the "F-Zero" series and like Fox he actually has attacks instead of having to stay in a ship. Captain Falcon's Falcon Punch, Falcon Kick, Smash Attack, and Falcon Dive are all fire elemental attacks. Captain Falcon can appear by completing the game in under 12 minutes I believe.
12. If you let the controller back this would be the first character you would see in the game after the Nintendo logo. This is a very powerful characters and is different and independent out of all the characters.

Answer: Master Hand

The Master Hand is the glove which is the final boss. He is different in that he is not playable and he has Hit Points instead of percentage. As you first meet him he laughs evily. He is very easy to defeat though.
13. If you thought the Yoshi Team was pathetic take a look at this team. They can be any character they want whether you like it or not. They appear in two stages.

Answer: Fighting Polygons

The purple annoyances go flying off just like the Yoshi Team and come in any character form even the hidden ones. They appear in their own stage before the Master Hand and they appear in the bonus area "Race to the Finish".
14. Another very popular character as Nintendo goes. This character was recently released with an anthology for the Gamecube.

Answer: Link

Link the Hylian hero in all the "Legend of Zelda" games was the first character I used. He uses all his signature moves too. The only thing that would make him better is if he was faster. He is also the first enemy you fight in the One Player game. Many people like to play his ghost form by making him white though.
15. Bonus Question: How many stages do you have allies in?

Answer: 2

You have 1 ally in the Mario Brother battle and you have 2 allies in the Giant Donkey Kong fight.
