The Creatures of "Monster Hunter Freedom 2" - PSP Quiz

My last quiz was rated as "Very Difficult" and I didn't want you players to be limited to only a difficult "Monster Hunter Freedom 2" quiz. So I decided to create an easier quiz on something all hunters should know about, their enemy.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What rubbery enemy can flash and poison its opponent?

Answer: Gypceros

If you take a fire weapon and stay close under his tail you should defeat him with time to spare, however, never take a shock trap for the Gypceros as he is unaffected by electricity. If you can, try to cut off his crest; not only will this stop his flash attacks, but it will give you a chance to attack him while he tries to flash.
2. Which giant, rocky creature can be found in the volcano and swamp and comes in either white or black?

Answer: Gravios

The Gravios has gas attacks for close range and a powerful beam attack for long range. However, there are a few tricks for defeating him: The Gravios can be caught in a shock trap, his tail can be cut off (you can also attack it when he does gas attacks) and two Large Barrel Bomb+ (large barrel bomb & scatterfish) deals severe damage to him.
3. What large and gentle, yak-like beast can be found in the mountains and even on your farm?

Answer: Popo

Popo are the main food source for Tigrex and will try to attack you if you kill a member of their herd or strike one without killing it. If you're looking for a few pokke points (popo tongue) and raw meat when first starting your game, feel free to eliminate a small herd if you'd like.
4. Which Fatalis is known as "The Ancestor"?

Answer: White Fatalis

White Fay (aka. White Fatalis) can kill you with a single thunderbolt, but here's a little secret, when he flies to the top of the tower to release his hail of lethal bolts, run to the edge of the arena circle (NOT outer circle) opposite the wall near the entrance; in front of the pillar you will find a dark line or crack in the ground.

There are several lines around the arena so look carefully, stand on the edge of the circle where this line touches and wait out his entire rampage. The bolts may come VERY close, but they will not hit you. You can also eat or play flute and stuff while you wait.
5. What elusive elder dragon (sort of) has a silver mane and is known as "The Phantom"?

Answer: Kirin

The Kirin has no true weakness (except a tiny one to dragon) and they really don't have a lot of health. Bombs, especially Large Barrel Bomb+ can be extremely useful against Kirins. Don't bother taking Small Barrel Bombs because you will want to wait for the Kirin to blow them up himself with its lightning bolts.

A sword and shield is probably the best weapon to use against such a fast creature.
6. What vicious monkey-like creature gains a golden mane and stripes when enraged?

Answer: Rajang

Rajangs never stop attacking (except when in a shock trap), and are extremely powerful. Their main weakness is ice, so if you're a longswordsman, then you'd better get out your Blango Destructor (weapon chain starts from Buster Sword).
7. What sticky fingered Lynian loves to steal stuff, especially Felvine?

Answer: Melynx

Melynx are little black cats that can steal necessary equipment, such as the Book of Combos and Mega potions, but never fear, you can always run them off before fighting your target monster or find their secret base and get your stuff back. Melynx also love Felvine and will only steal this item, instead of anything else, if you have it in your bag at the time.
8. What mountainous elder dragon is running (well, actually walking) through four areas and trying to break down a fortress?

Answer: Lao-Shan Lung

Though Lao-Shan Lung deals no intentional damage, his footsteps and swishing tail can send you flying and quickly in need of potions. It is rumored that Lao-Shan Lung is traveling directly through the mountains because he is trying to run away from Fatalis.
9. Which insect usually comes in swarms and can paralyze you with a single wasp- like sting?

Answer: Vespoid

Vespoids are one of the most common creatures in the game and are, not that hard to kill. The hard thing about them is that they respawn so much. They do have some workable materials if you can kill them whole or with a poison smoke bomb (Bomb Material & Toadstool). If you go on a Vespoid hunting quest, I would recommend 10 poison smoke bombs and a sword and shield with a fire attribute.
10. Which prey lives mostly in the desert and has a leader with two orange crests on its head?

Answer: Genprey

The Genprey are best dealt with before going into battle with you target. They can paralyze you when they lunge and will distract you terribly, as will all the preys, when you need to concentrate the most, but be careful though, only kill them when your target is in the area because all small creature will respawn to some degree when you reload an area.
