"World of Warcraft" - Deadwind Pass Quiz

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. There is no flightpath location in this zone.

Answer: True

In fact, there are no flightpaths or towns whatsoever in this small zone (making this a difficult quiz to wrap my mind around). Somewhat of an afterthought of a zone, Deadwind Pass sits in between other locations and its only purpose is to contain a few small points of attraction. Nearby zones contain towns for Alliance and Horde players to reach (and one of them has the ability to harness a portal/teleport) though there's really no hearthstones, inns, or travel hubs. Ah well.
2. Can players work on their Fishing profession in Deadwind Pass?

Answer: Yes, there is one location in the ravine

While this small zone has a minimal area for use for fishermen, players will need to be a minimum of 330 in their profession in order to be able to send out a line. Said river is only found in the ravine cutting down the center of the zone and it can be accessed from near the instance in the south. Only one other zone on the continent requires the same level of profession: Burning Steppes. You can, however, get the same level fish in Stratholme, the Isle of Quel'Danas, Scholomance, Zul'Aman, and Zul'Gurub.
3. The Sleeping Gorge constitutes a small part of Deadwind Pass. The path cutting through it goes in which direction?

Answer: North/South

While the one path in the northern part of Deadman's Crossing cuts east-west directly through Deadwind Pass, one could turn south down another pathway on the zone's east side to find their way to the Sleeping Gorge, literally a walk along the ravine cutting through the area.

There are very few enemies here (though they are in their mid-to-high level 50s, but the drop is one that players wouldn't want to take, so it's best to stay on the path.
4. What winged enemy can be found on the roads of Deadwind Pass?

Answer: Sky Shadow

While these carrion birds are scarce, they can be found on Deadman's Crossing, the Sleeping Gorge, and in a couple of little offshoots from these beaten paths. In mid-level 50s, these birds aren't a threat to lower-level characters simply passing through, but they may become a bit of a hassle if you decide to dig deeper into the zone.

While wraiths, wisps, and shadows also make appearances, they are found further along the western cliffs of Deadwind Pass where few paths venture.
5. What type of creatures make their home in 'The Vice'?

Answer: Ogres

Several small camps can be found in the southeast corner of the Deadwind Pass map though few of them have relevance to players unless they're passing through. This, excluding some much-higher-level enemies further down the path, is the last line of defense before the zone's instance. Grosh'gok Compound is a component of this, and the ogres housed there are almost at level 60. According to some of the NPCs in the game, this region is also known as the Deadwind Ogre Mounds.
6. Ariden's Camp can be found in the northern area of the zone. Who (or what) is Ariden?

Answer: No one knows

Ariden's Camp is an abandoned location, and much like the rest of Deadwind Pass, its existence serves little-to-no purpose in the grand scheme of things. Similar to the rest of the zone, the camp is hollowed out and empty, and you're unlikely to find anything of value in its remains. To reach Ariden's Camp, simply search north of the otherwise enemy-free Deadman's Crossing which cuts across the zone from east to west in the northern portion of Deadwind Pass.
7. Deadwind Pass only connects to two other zones: Swamp of Sorrows and what other area?

Answer: Duskwood

Deadwind Pass, while a very small zone, connects across one of its narrowest points between the Alliance-centric zone, Duskwood, and the Horde-specific zone, Swamp of Sorrows. While Duskwood is for players between level 20 and 30, Swamp of Sorrows is for players between 35 and 45.

The Swamp of Sorrows is notable for containing the Temple of Atal'Hakkar, a higher original "World of Warcraft" dungeon in the middle of the swamp. Duskwood rests to the west (where the town of Darkshire is down the path) and Swamp of Sorrows is to the direct east.
8. There is only one instance in Deadwind Pass. What is its name?

Answer: Karazhan

Karazhan is a level 70 raid instance in the south end of Deadwind Pass. Quite simply, it may be the only point of interest for most players in this minuscule area as it's quite the big landmark. To reach it, players need to cross the entire zone, taking the path south from Deadman's Crossing, through the Sleeping Gorge and The Vice, and across a small, burnt-out village at the base of the structure that is Karazhan.
9. The instance found in Deadwind Pass was originally reachable using which expansion of the game?

Answer: Burning Crusade

Also known as the Ivory Tower, Karazhan was introduced to players as part of the launch of the game's first expansion: "The Burning Crusade" (despite the fact that it really isn't in a "Burning Crusade" zone or the Outlands). Because of this, some of the enemies found outside the instance have a tendency to be higher than the level range normally found in an original "World of Warcraft" zone. Karazhan is a ten-man raid instance.
10. How many entrances into the zone's sole instance are there?

Answer: Two

Players can either enter this massive instance by making their way through the front door or climbing up a nearby side-tower and reaching the building's small, caged-off side entrance. Players can't just walk into the side-entrance though; instead, one must claim the Master's Key by completing the 'Return to Khadgar' quest, and one needs to visit Shattrath City in the Outlands to do this.

This lengthy quest chain for an extensive dungeon is neutral and can be completed by both Alliance and Horde players.
