In 1940, Standard Games, based in Honolulu began selling coin-operated games. In 1951 the company moved to Japan and was renamed Service Games. In 1965 Service Games merged with rival arcade machine provider Rosen Enterprises. The new name of the post-merger company was Sega Enterprises, from combining the first two letters of SErvice with the first two of GAmes.

2. The Swedish company IKEA is the largest furniture retailer in the world. "IKEA" is an acronym for four words that mean what?

Answer: The name of the founder and where he grew up

IKEA was named for founder Ingvar Kamprad (b. 1926), the farm where he grew up, Elmtaryd, and his home parish of Agunnaryd. Kamprad founded the company in 1943 when he was only 17 years old.

Nintendo Koppai was founded in 1889, and originally produced hanafuda cards. These are cards that use images instead of numbers, in an attempt to reduce their ability to be used in gambling. Nintendo still produces the cards, although the card business is dwarfed by their video game endeavors.

Some Tote'm stores (because customers "toted" away their purchases) did use totem poles as exterior store decorations.
7-Eleven started piloting 24-hour stores in 1962, starting in Austin, Texas.
