1. First of all, how many consonants are there in the Thai alphabet?

Answer: 44

There are 44 consonants with 21 distinct sounds in Thai language. Each consonant has a general word that use the consonant itself as the name, for example 'ko kai', where 'kai', meaning chicken, uses the consonant 'ko'.
2. How many Thai consonants are NOT used anymore?

Answer: 2

Only 'kho khuat' and 'kho kwai' are not used anymore. However some of the other consonants are rarely used.
3. What is the fifth tone?

Answer: Rising

There are five phonetic tones in Thai language: mid, low, falling, high, and rising. Some of Thai words have five meanings for the five tones.
4. What does the mark of the fifth tone (mai chattawa) look like?

Answer: Plus sign

Tone marks are symbol representing tones placed above consonants. There are four tone marks: mai ek, mai tho, mai tri, and mai chattawa. A strange thing about them is that they do not represent a single paticular tone, but the tone changes differently when used with different classes of consonants.

Answer: All sides of consonants

There are 21 figures of vowels that are mixed together to make the total of 32 vowels. Different vowels are located on different sides of consonants, some on the top, some on the bottom, some on the left and right side, and sometimes two or three sides.

Answer: Tua Karan

It is placed on consonant to remove the sound completely from the word when pronounce. It is because to reduce the syllables, while keeping the form of its root word at once. It can remove up to three consonant sounds at the same time with one symbol.

There are many pronouns in Thai, and they can be categorized into many groups. For this question, 'chan' is and unformal pronoun, 'phom' is more formal, and 'khaphachao' is very formal. Khun is a formal pronoun for 'you'.
9. How many types of nouns are there?

Answer: 5

The first two types are common nouns and proper nouns, same as English. The third and fourth are measure word representing the amounts of common nouns, and another represents groups of common noun. The last type are nouns that do not physically exist in reality, such as love, walk, and development.
