$1.14 Canadian? Wow! That's cheap! In the UK,it's currently between £1.11 to £1.24! Average around £1.15. That's equivalent to: US $1.74 Can. $1.77 Aus. $1.90 NZD. $2.47 About 65% of the UK 'pump price' is Duty and Value Added Tax. Thankfully,I don't do a lot of miles,so only spend about £20 - £25 per week. Can anyone send me some cheap petrol/gas? Please? LOL! Reply #5. Mar 15 10, 10:10 AM |

$2.69 per gallon (American). I am so glad ours is an economy car. Some totals on others pumps are as follows: $58, $65, $83...and that is not starting out on empty. People grumble, sometimes, as they pump gas. Reply #7. Mar 15 10, 10:31 AM |

$0.95 cents a litre where I live. 100km west, down the highway it's less than $0.90. 200km north it's $1.10. Quite a difference when you figure it's per litre not gallons Reply #8. Mar 15 10, 10:53 AM |

Do States in the US levy taxes on gas/petrol? Or are there Federal taxes? Or both? Reply #11. Mar 15 10, 11:20 AM |

I just filled up at Co-Op and paid .98.9 per litre. I buy my gas at Co-Op because I get an annual rebate cheque, based on the amount of gas I purchase in a year. My last cheque was for $68 and change. Reply #12. Mar 15 10, 11:42 AM |

I hit submit before I added that where I live we pay both provincial and federal tax on gasoline and combined the taxes far outstrip the cost of the gasoline. Reply #13. Mar 15 10, 11:44 AM |

Thanks for that,Judy. Some big differences there, state by state. But it looks like gas/petrol is almost double the price in the UK compared to the US. Mainly down to huge Tax and Duties,I think. Reply #15. Mar 15 10, 12:27 PM |

I wish our gaswas only a dollar! In Florida U.S. it is about $2.80-$2.90. If our gas was a dollar, people would be going crazy and there would be a shortage of gas within a matter of days. Reply #19. Mar 15 10, 3:32 PM |

$2.58 a gallon in Iowa...but then again I work at a self-service gas station at a warehouse club, so I'm the one who has to change the price sign. Reply #20. Mar 15 10, 4:02 PM |
