Welcome to Commission XXVII!

Way, way, way, way back when, we had a Commission where everybody had to write not one, but two titles. Things are a bit more complicated now. With a badgelet to be earned, there's no saying that doing that would result in not only a long, long wait (guh) but handed-back second titles. So there's a happy medium this time.

The theme of this Commission is 'Double Trouble'. Every participant will submit two titles; both titles need to vary, but only by one word, so one could be 'Kiss My Lips' and another could be 'Kiss My Grits' or 'Ouch! My Lips!' or 'Kiss Her Lips' or whatever else. You may change the punctuation to get it just right.

The author receiving will have an option write one, the other, or both. So, when you receive your title, you have some options:
1) You can hold onto it, complete it as normal, and not worry about the second at all.
2) You can pass on it for a shot at the second instead.
3) You can say if you want to complete both directly from the start (and you will be held to it).

If you go with option #2, you can always go back and take the first title, but you'll have to complete both quizzes.

Sound good? Good. Please send the titles directly to my inbox via a personal message. You will receive a title, at random, from another participant on the launch date and you will complete a quiz/two quizzes using it. Any player who inevitably receives a title may submit it to any category they choose provided it follows the rules above.

As always, Commissions are not open to first-time authors-- please have at least a couple quizzes under your belt before joining, just to show you know the basics. In addition, since there is potential for more than one title, you may not sign up if you currently have a title from Commission XXV or XXVI unless you either finish it before Friday this week or it is a recommissioned title.

The deadline for sign-ups is Friday (March 8) at noon FST. Titles will not be accepted after that point; they may be handed out later in the day though.

For the first time in Commission history, this possibility does exist. They could be lost to the ages; if they don't get completed and they're posted at a later date, they will not count towards it.

I'm confused regarding the options. At first, I thought the process was we get two titles and have a choice to write a quiz using Title 1, Title 2, or Title 1 and 2. The choice is made whenever we feel like it and is not something that needs to be decided in advance. However, looney_tunes's comments makes me think there is something else about choosing an option that I don't know about. Could somebody help clear my confusion?

Everyone submits two titles as per the rules above.

On Friday, everyone will receive one title, the first given by their respective match-up. They can choose to complete it or swap it for the second.

If they want to go back and do the first option, they need to do both, otherwise they're stuck with the second title at that point.
