In the song "Achy Breaky Heart" I could have sworn BRC was saying "you can tell your dog about my leg" instead of to bite my leg. Although that song is a real stinker I think my version would have been an improvement! Reply #44. Jun 26 07, 10:33 AM |

I used to be really bad at hearing lyrics right especially if the song had a fast beat. A classic example is 5-6-7-8 by Steps which is really fast paced: What I heard: My obesssion farmer western, my dance floor day. What was really sung: My obession from a western, my dance floor date. When I finally got the CD with the correct lyrics in I realised I must have misheard the entire chorus, but I can't remember what I used to sing unfortunatly. Reply #46. Jun 26 07, 11:50 AM |

When I first heard The Rolling Stones' "Brown Sugar", I thought it was actually called "Ground Shaker". Reply #47. Jun 27 07, 12:40 PM |

When I was younger, my uncle was at my house and "Cat Scratch Fever" by Ted Nugent came on the radio and I thought it was saying "Can't Scratch a Beaver" so I started singing it that way. My uncle thought it was hilarious and for the past 20 years, every time he come around me he starts singing, "can't scratch a beaver! da da da!" Reply #49. Jul 03 07, 7:58 AM |

I just thought of another funny one. I had a friend who was hard of hearing and she would sing songs the way she heard them whether they were right or not. She would sing the Snoop Dogg song "Drop it Like it's Hot" as "Drop it Like a Sock", and in the Chingy song "Right Thurr" at the part where he says "I love it when you do that right thurr!" she would sing "I love it when you take me to the fair". Since I was a kid, I have always thought the song "Barbara Ann" by The Beach Boys was saying "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb bomb Iran"......... Reply #52. Jul 09 07, 8:20 AM |

I heard a funny story about a little boy that thought the line in one one of the hymns they sang in church was "Gladly the cross-eyed bear" instead of "gladly the cross I'd bear". Reply #53. Jul 09 07, 8:37 AM |

When I first heard Butterfly I thought Smile said,"I've been searching for some pans, all across Japan just to find, to find my piece of pie." Later I was told the real line,"I've been searching for a man, all across Japan, just to find, to find my samori." Reply #54. Jul 31 07, 6:22 AM |

I had always thought that Southern Rock song said "Perty" little love song. Who knew it was "heard it in a love song"? Well it is Southern rock for goodness sake! Also remember the theme song for "Three's Company?" My husband asked me one day what "herzen" means. He thought the song said "Where the kisses are herzen, herzen his..." I couldn't keep from laughing when I informed him it was hers, and hers, and his. We crack up every time we see a re-run. Reply #55. Jul 31 07, 9:14 AM |

I have to admit that I too thought The Marshall Tucker band was saying " purty little love song " as well. That was so long ago I kind of forgot about that. My friends quickly pointed out my error when they heard me singing it. Reply #56. Jul 31 07, 7:28 PM |

Of Wolf and Man - Metallica. The actual lyrics are "Shape shift, nose to the wind Shape shift, feeling I've been". I completely misheard it and thought he was saying... Sheep s**t. :) Reply #58. Aug 13 07, 1:23 PM |

Well this one is from way back when dinosaurs ruled the earth... As a tiny tot at Sunday School several of us were convinced that the song entitled "I Will Make You Fishers of Men" was really "I Will Make You Vicious Old Men". Not quite in the spirit of Christian ministry, I think! Reply #60. Feb 11 08, 11:26 AM |
