The most recent album I purchased was "Li(f)e" by Sage Francis in May of 2010, it is a really good album. But the music is much different from his other albums for all of you that have heard of him. Reply #1. Dec 04 10, 7:44 PM |

I Dreamed a Dream by Susan Boyle. I like her voice very much and I never forget Simon´s mouth open when she started singing after having been laughed by the audience. Reply #2. Dec 04 10, 8:45 PM |

Jeff Beck's "Truth" on CD. Of course I've got this on vinyl, but don't really have anything good to play vinyl on, these days. And the reason I went on Amazon to get this? Driving home late one Saturday night a couple of weeks ago, I heard Rod Stewart on the radio singing "Maggie May" on the show "Vinyl Tap". Bachman then told the story of how the single came to be released, and it got me thinking about Rod Stewart's early career, before he became a big solo artist. The next day, there were *two* early Rod Stewart questions in the quizzes I was editing - it was like a sign. This album has always seemed to me to be his best work, so I bought it. Reply #5. After searching the interweb for some years, I recently found one of 10CC's lesser known albums - Look Hear - on CD. So I bought it. :) Reply #7. Dec 14 10, 9:20 AM |

Bach's Goldberg Variations (81 Gould recording, excellent) and his Mass in B Minor (Von Karajan version), slightly overrated. Reply #12. Dec 16 10, 5:49 AM |

Sting's "Symphonicities" and "Panarama" by The Cars. "Symphonicities" is a collection of some of Sting's songs that have been rearranged for an orchestral performance. I was suspicious of this idea at first, but now that I've listened to it, I can't stop. The music is truly beautiful and moving, and some of the songs are startlingly successful--even the remake of an early Poice hard rocking song like "Next to You." I've gotten re-interested in The Cars lately; the band is actually scheduled to release a new album next spring after all of these years. I'm excited about it! Reply #15. Dec 20 10, 11:51 AM |

The other day my wife brought me home the new Kings of Leon CD, called "Come Around Sundown". They're the best band IMO of the last 15 years or so but I prefer their earlier stuff. Not bad by any means, but not their best. Reply #17. Dec 21 10, 11:39 AM |

Off today to buy the new Annie Lennox Christmas CD. I've heard a few bits and I like the way she has reworked traditional Christmas songs. Seems to be very 'folky' in its approach. Reply #18. Dec 23 10, 4:00 AM |
