How many 'signs of ageing' apply to you?

(Non Brits may need one or two explaining to them) :)

Leave room for me!

When I was eight, my teacher asked me to get something from another classroom. I was so pleased to be asked, I leapt up, ran to the door, closed it behind me, and forgot what I was supposed to be doing.

Backache set in at seventeen.

I've never liked loud noise and I complain about everything.

Well, I sure don't know any songs in the top ten, and my husband would probably say I'm obsessive about feeding the birds.

I'll probably add some more later, but I need to go put nectar in the hummingbird feeder. ;-)

My favorite comment on this subject is the old song"

Oh, my, my youth is all spent,
My get-up-and-go, got up and went,
But I won't complain, I'll just sit here and grin,
And think of the places my get-up has been.

I might as well not bother with the Ascension Quest. Looks like I’m not going to live long enough to finish it.

That's silly though, I've been doing many of those things since I was 16. Gardening, wildlife, wearing comfy clothes, drinking gallons of tea:S

And number 21?
I don't avoid lifting heavy things because I'm worried about my back, I don't lift heavy things because I have an enormous strapping teenager who does it for me. :)
The wisdom of old age,
I am a little old lady, my role is to stand and point and command 'Make it so'

I complained a a friend about getting old, and was told "You are not getting old, you ARE old".........now I know!
The person who gave me the benefit of this observation is actually 3 WEEKS younger then me! Lol
Having lived the Biblical "Three Score years and Ten", I reckon I qualify for "old" now!

I'm fat & have some hurts at the age of 34. I know that I'm getting older when the little kids that I used to know are getting bigger & older & also when my nieces asked their mom who were the "Smurfs".

I knew I was getting middle-aged when I found myself telling my daughter that the original version (of whatever song she was listening to) was much better, and I really did look at a policeman one day and feel shocked about how young he seemed to be.

Then one day I had to sort through CVs of job applicants I kept thinking people must have made typos on their birth years.

But most crushing of all was quite recently at a party when I danced -- and realised that I could no longer co-ordinate my hips, legs or arms. They were like crazy out-of-control killing machines. Life is just so mean!

I don't like noisy places anymore.
I don't know any song from top ten.
Younger coleagues feel obliged to call me ma'am.
I use to say "back in my days".
I'm interested in antiageing cosmetics.
The worst part is that I like to mix whith younger people(maybe 5-10 years younger) and hearing that "ma'am" just kills me.

Me? Old? NAh! Don't make me cackle!

I do get a little miffed, though, when my 13 year old son and/or 15 year old daughter are referred to as my GRANDCHILDREN! :)
