After losing his wife, Sam must cope with his precocious son Jonah who calls into a radio station to find him a girlfriend. Annie hears the call and, despite being engaged to another man, decides she must meet this remarkable father and son. Jonah sets up the meeting between Sam and Annie and the two eventually meet on Valentine's Day at the Empire State Building in New York City.
