Martian. "Martian Hop" by The Ran-Dells never charted in the UK but reached number 16 on the US pop chart in 1963. It was their only chart hit.

Earth. The Crew-Cuts sang "Earth Angel" in 1955. It reached number four on the UK chart and number three on the US pop chart.

"Man On The Moon" was by R.E.M and reached number 18 on the UK chart in 1992. The song (a tribute to the late Andy Kaufman) reached number 30 on the US pop chart in 1993. "Starman" was by David Bowie and reached number ten on the UK chart in 1972, it only reached number 65 on the US pop chart. "Sun King" by the Cult reached number 39 on the UK chart in 1989, it never charted in the US.
Star. Kiki Dee was singing "Star" in 1981. It reached number 13 on the UK chart, sadley it never charted in the US (one of her best records I thought). She had a number one on both charts in 1976 with "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", a duet with Elton John.
Moon. The Marcels were singing about a "Blue Moon" in 1961. It reached number one on the US pop chart and the UK chart. It was their only number one on both charts.
Venus. Jimmy Clanton was singing about his "Venus In Blue Jeans" in 1962. It reached number seven on the US pop chart but did not chart in the UK. British singer Mark Wynter had the UK hit version which reached number four in 1962.
Pluto. Don Partridge was having his "Breakfast On Pluto" in 1969. It reached number 26 on the UK chart but it never charted in the US. Don Partridge was a one-man band busker before his three UK hits and then went back to busking afterwards.
Earth. Duran Duran were on "Planet Earth" in 1981. It reached number 12 on the UK chart but it never charted in the US.
