Interesting Questions, Facts, and Information
'Supernatural'- Season 1
flare gun. He was prepared to use a molotov cocktail weapon, as they knew fire was their only chance to kill the monster. After they were all inside its cave, Dean found a couple of flare guns. At just the right moment he fired one into the creature, and it burned from the inside out. At the very end of the episode Dean claims, "I hate camping." Sam says, "Me too."
"Wendigo"- What university did Sam tell Ranger Wilkinson that he and Dean attended? | "Supernatural" Pt. 1
|
U.C. Boulder. They claimed to be Environmental Study Majors from U.C. Boulder. He did not believe them, though, and thought they were actually friends of Haley Collins. In truth, the real school is known as C.U. Boulder, short for the University of Colorado at Boulder.
"Wendigo"- Who was the guide that the Collins family hired to help look for their brother Tommy? | "Supernatural" Pt. 1
|
Roy. Roy was an experienced hunter and familiar with the woods of Blackwater Ridge. Haley and Ben needed his help navigating the wilderness in search of Tommy. In the end, Roy got into his own way. He was overconfident and ran outside of the protected circle, right into the hands of the Wendigo. Callum Keith Rennie played Roy. Rennie was also Leoben Conoy on the series "Battlestar Galactica".
Haley and Ben. Tommy and two of his buddies were out in the wilderness of Blackwater Ridge on a camping adventure. Tommy checked in with his siblings every day by cell phone. Haley said that he'd text message, send a video or pictures every single day. Sam and Dean found out that Tommy was supposed to be back on the 24th, which is the same date that Sam's girlfriend Jessica Moore was born. I wonder if numbers will be used for significance in this series as time goes on?
Lost Creek, Colorado. The men had gathered coordinates from their father's journal. It pointed them out to Blackwater Ridge in Lost Creek, Colorado. Once there, they realized that their father had most likely never been there. But, they stayed to offer Haley and Ben Collins support in searching for their brother Tommy.
Capside was the setting for the WB's series "Dawson's Creek", now cancelled. Hyland Beach was the setting for the return of all of the abductees on USA Network's "The 4400".
"Pilot"- Who dies at the end of the episode, sending the brothers out together to hunt evil? | "Supernatural" Pt. 1
|
Jessica. Sam's girlfriend Jessica, whom he called Jess, dies in the exact same way as his own mother. After a successful end to the Woman in White, Sam returns to school to find Jessica stuck to the ceiling. She died 22 years to the date of his mother's murder. Her death sends Sam and Dean out together in search of evil and the whereabouts of their father.
"Pilot"- What did Sam and Dean call the mysterious woman on the highway of Jericho? | "Supernatural" Pt. 1
|
Woman in White. Sarah Shahi played Constance Welch, the Woman in White. She would appear along side the highway and lure men to their doom. The story was revealed that Constance found out her own husband was cheating on her and the devastation of that sent her over the edge. She drowned her two children inside her home, and now as a ghost she can never return home. She gets the men to take her all the way to the house, and that is where she kills them. Sam is able to take her home at last, as he drives his brother's car straight into the old building. She is inside at last, where the ghost of her children take her away.
Sarah has guest starred on such TV series as "Alias", "Dawson's Creek" and "ER". In 2005 she began portraying Carmen on Showtime's drama hit "The L Word".
she is murdered. She is murdered by some unseen force. We see her plastered to the ceiling, bleeding. Then she spontaneously catches fire and dies. The date is November 2, 1983. This prompts their father to become a hunter of all things evil. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki star as Dean and Sam Winchester, brothers raised to be warriors against evil. In the first episode, Sam in in college and living with his girlfriend.
Jensen Ackles played Eric Brady #6 for a short time on the soap opera "Days of Our Lives" and guest starred in season six of "Dawson's Creek" as CJ. Jared Padalecki portrayed Dean on "Gilmore Girls" for several seasons.
Aviophobia. Aquaphobia is the fear of water, acrophobia is the fear of heights and achluophobia is fear of the dark, none of which Dean has showed to have any problems with. Aviophobia is, of course, fear of flying, which Dean most defiantly has a problem with in "Phantom Traveler".
A gun. In "The Pilot", Sam reminds Dean that when Sam told their father he was afraid of the monster in the closet, John gave him a .45.
Kansas. Also, the Impala's license plate reads KAZ 2Y5.
Brands of alcohol. In "The Pilot", Sam tells Jess that he and Dean are going to find their dad who's on a hunting trip with his friends "Jim, Jack and Jose". Jim Beam and Jack Daniels are types of whiskey and Jose Cuervo is a type of tequila.
The Bradys. As Sam tells his friend in "The Pilot" regarding his family, "'Cause we're not exactly the Bradys." (Referring to The Brady Bunch), to which his friend replies, "I'm not exactly the Huxtables." (referring to The Cosby Show). In "Bugs", Dean compares Sam to "the blond chick" (Marilyn Munster) in "The Munsters".
Electronic Voice Phenomena. Electronic Voice Phenomena are the "spirit voices" that appear on audio recordings. The rest I just made up by combining cool sounding words.
Matt. Max was the boy in "Nightmare" who Sam identified with because they both have paranormal powers and both their mothers died in the same way. Ben was the younger brother in "Wendigo" who was left with Sam when Haley (Ben's older sister) and Dean got kidnapped by the wendigo. Lucas was the boy Dean identified with in "Dead in the Water". Matt was the son of Larry White, the real estate developer in "Bugs", who didn't approve of his son, much like Sam feels his dad didn't approve of him.
Jessica and Dean. At the beginning of "Wendigo", Jessica's grave says she was born January 24, 1984. In "The Benders", Dean's record says he was also born on January 24, only five years earlier in '79. For the record, Sam was born May 2, 1983.
2005. In "Wendigo", Sam has a dream where he visits Jessica's grave. The date of her death on her tombstone is November 2nd, 2005.
Marshall Hall. Roy LeGrange was the faith healer who thought he'd been given the power to heal. However, it was his wife, Sue Ann, with the help of black magic, who was controlling a reaper to kill people she found "wicked" so that others could live. Layla Rourke is the young woman with the brain tumor that Dean meets. David Wright was the man protesting against Roy LeGrange for being a fraud. Marshall Hall was the young man who died of a heart attack so Dean could be healed.
We do what we do and we shut up about it. Sam mentions this all important rule in 'Route 666', when he learns Dean told his ex-girlfriend Cassie all about his 'job'.
A Walkman. In 'Phantom Traveler', Dean tells Sam that he made the EMF, which measures electromagnetic frequencies, himself. Sam's not impressed.
The Shapeshifter caught the car keys with his left hand. The Shapeshifter was a near perfect replica of Dean. He looked like Dean. He sounded like Dean. He was wearing Dean's clothes, including the charm necklace. He even answered Sam's question correctly ('Didn't Dad once face a shapeshifter in San Antonio?' 'No, it was Austin. And it turned out not to be a shapeshifter. It was a thought-form, a psychic projection.'). However, when the Shapeshifter caught the keys with the hand Dean had injured earlier, Sam knew it wasn't Dean.
That he and Dean were lucky to have their dad. After seeing how Max ended up with an abusive family, Sam admits that he and Dean were pretty lucky to have a dad like John, even if he was obsessed with the supernatural. Sam toys with the idea he might end up like Max, using his powers to harm others, but he certainly doesn't see that as the only option. Dean tells Sam that 'as long as I'm around, nothing bad is gonna happen to you.' Unfortunately, as we've see in past episodes (i.e. 'Faith'), Dean cannot guarantee that he'll always be there for his little brother. Sam had started to come to realization that he wasn't to blame for Jessica's death in 'Bloody Mary'. Weather or not he fully accepts that, especially after the events of 'Nightmare' where an obvious link between Sam's paranormal powers and his mother death is made, is yet to be determined.
Star Wars. Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill played Han Solo and Luke Skywalker in 'Star Wars Episodes IV, V, and VI'. Other examples of Dean's 'creative' aliases include: James Hetfield (of Metallica) in 'Phantom Traveler', Father Simmons and Father Frehley (Gene Simmons and Paul 'Ace' Frehley of KISS) in 'Nightmare' and John Bonham (drummer for Led Zeppelin) in 'Scarecrow'.
Missy, Lee and Jared. Peter, Paul and Mary were a musical group from the 60s. Jed, Jethro and Elly May are characters from 'The Beverly Hillbillies' And Bo, Luke and Daisy are from 'Dukes of Hazzard'.
A 7th grader at his first dance. To dress the part of Homeland Security in 'Phantom Traveler', Dean and Sam buy and wear suits. I love Dean and all, but I'm with Sam on this one.
Dean is jealous of Sam. In 'Skin', the shapeshifter took Dean's form, knocked Sam unconscious and tied him up in the sewers. The shapeshifter was also able to read Dean's mind and tells Sam, 'I am your brother! See... deep down, I'm just jealous. You've got friends. You've got a life. Me? I know I'm a freak. And sooner or later, everyone's gonna leave me.'
Godzilla vs. Mothra. As Dean tells Evan in 'The Benders', his favorite Godzilla movie is 'Godzilla vs. Mothra', which Dean says is so much better than the original. Apparently, Sam likes the remake, much to Dean and Evan's disgust.
Lee. According to the tombstone in Sam's dream at the beginning of 'Wendigo', Jessica's full name was Jessica Lee Moore.
In "Devil's Trap", Meg is being exorcised. She says, "An exorcism, are you serious?"
Did John reply, "Oh, we're going for it, baby. Head spinning, projectile vomiting, the whole nine yards"? | "Supernatural" Quotes from Season 1
|
No. Sam, Dean, and Bobby were there, but not John. He was the whole reason Meg was being exorcised in the first place. Dean was the person who said this quote.
"Well, for one, they're cassette tapes and two... Black Sabbath? Motorhead? Metallica? It's the greatest hits of mullet rock." Did Sam say this? | "Supernatural" Quotes from Season 1
|
t. Amazingly, this is one of the times where Sam shows his sarcastic side. It was said in "Pilot".
No. It was actually Sam who said this.
