Hammer. You'll first run into Hammer after you defeat the Great Armor boss. He'll say that he was sent by the army to investigate the castle, but somehow he got lost inside it. Afterwards, he opens up a weapon and item shop at the Castle entrance. His inventory grows after a while. Be sure to check his inventory from time to time for the Soul Eater Ring (it increases your chance of absorbing souls).

Flame Demon, Giant Bat, Succubus. The Flame Demon soul gives you the ability to teleport and shoot fireballs. The Giant Bat soul gives you the ability to transform into a flying bat (what else?), and the Succubus soul allows you to absorb HP from your enemies whenever you hit them. Notice that these abilities are reminiscent of Dracula's abilities. [One more thing, there is no such thing as an Incubus soul in the game]

Menace. Menace is the final boss in the game. At the end of The Abyss, you find Dmitrii standing over a defeated Arikado, who is then cast out of The Abyss by Dmitrii. You also find out that Dmitrii killed Celia. Dmitrii dies however, when he can't control the souls he has dominated, which burst out of him and form Menace.

Skeleton. The skeleton is just inside the second room ready to throw bones at you. As a side note, the skeletons in this game look very similar to the Stalfos in "Zelda II: Adventure of Link", just a little more advanced (and without the sword and shield. While on the subject, the same noise is used in this game when Trevor gets hurt as the one used in "Zelda II" when Link gets hurt.

He can absorb the power of the enemies he kills. As he kills an enemy, the power goes into him allowing him to adapt to that enemy's special ability. Very useful indeed.
