Johnson, Lyndon B.
Stonewall, Texas. He was born on August 27, 1908 and died on January 22, 1973. He was 64 years old when he died.
Baines. Some people use Johnson's initials to acknowledge him by calling him LBJ. Johnson became a very unpopular person when he escalated the Vietnam War during his presidency.
Teacher. His first job was teaching at Pearsall High School in 1930. His next teaching job was at Sam Houston High School in Texas.

Air Force One. Vice-President Johnson was sworn in as President on Air Force One in Dallas, Texas on November 22, 1963. The plane was not in flight at the time. It was landed at the Love Field Airport. He was the first President sworn into office by a woman.
creation of Welfare. The "Great Society" was a program created by Johnson to fight poverty, end racial injustice and cause social reform. Welfare was a program created by Franklin D. Roosevelt to help the poor.
Dean Rusk. Robert F. Kennedy was his Attorney General for a short time. Robert McNamara was his Secretary of Defense from 1963 through 1968. Stewart E. Udall was Secretary of the Interior for Johnson's entire term.
heart attack. He died on January 22, 1973 at his Texas ranch while peace talks were underway in Vietnam. He was found in bed by his Secret Service agents and pronounced dead at San Antonio International Airport. He died on a family plane on his way to a hospital in San Antonio.
