Monopoly (U.S. Version)
Rich Uncle Pennybags. In the UK the mascot is named Mr Monopoly.
Baltic and Mediterranean Avenues. I used to live in a cheap section of Washington, DC (on F Street). When I played with my family, we called the purples F Street.
Boardwalk and Park Place. Of course everyone knows these and they get excited when they land on them. But my experience is that you need good backup property to go with it if you're to stay in the game, since the blue properties typically aren't landed on as often.
Free Parking. Free Parking means nothing (do nothing space) according to the rules, but I play that the person landing there gets the pot ($500 to start plus Luxury and Income Tax payments and anything paid by players when instructed by Community Chest and Chance). I think this is a legitimate variation known by many.
Chance and Community Chest. As the game goes on and players are building on their property, everyone's looking out for the "repair" cards, which make you pay for each house and hotel you have. There are two cards, one in Chance and the other in Community Chest. The Chance card is cheaper.
Green and Red. You must build evenly and can only build when you have all the properties of the same color group. Also, you cannot build if there are no houses or hotels left to buy from the bank. You must wait until someone sells them back to the bank.
IN JAIL. If you're the low man on the totem pole with regards to cash and valuable property, you probably actually WISH to get sent to jail, to avoid your opponent's "danger spots."
Pennsylvania and B&O. These two are the second and third, respectively, on the board. Philadelphia is a big city in Pennsylvania, B&O stands for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad and MARC is a Maryland commuter train.
Reading and Short Line. These two are the first and last, respectively, on the board. The first name listed for each multiple choice answer is a city or town in Pennsylvania. Germantown is where Monopoly creator Charles B. Darrow lived when he brought the game to Parker Brothers. Philadelphia is the city where the department store was that bought Darrow's first 5000 sets, before he sold the rights to Parker Brothers.
Electric Company and Water Works. I always liked these properties, even though you can't build on them.
bag of gold. I know I didn't specify in the introduction that there would be any Deluxe Edition questions but I made this one pretty easy, plus the rest of the quiz was easy too.
$15,140. The bank must have enough money for up to eight players to play.
$50. Park Place's rent is $35, Pennsylvania costs $28, and Connecticut is $8.
$1500. Everyone gets two $500 bills, two $100 bills, two $50 bills, six $20 bills, five $10 bills, five $5 bills, and five $1 bills.
you must pay each player $50. I'm sure everyone hates drawing this card.
Parker Brothers. MGM is a movie company, Nintendo does video games, and Milton Bradley is a different game company.
