In this episode, Megatron made a clone of his former Predacon ally, Dinobot, that was loyal to him alone. His plan was to replace the real Dinobot with this clone, who could infiltrate the Maximal base and deactivate Sentinel, allowing the Predacons to easily take the base. However, the clone did have limits. What could the clone not do?

Transform. With a speck of Dinobot's DNA (apparently robots have DNA) Megatron was able to create a near-perfect clone of the ex-Predacon. Its only shortcoming was its inability to transform. Apart from that, it looked and sounded just like the real Dinobot, which Megatron intended to use in order to gain an "unfair advantage" over the Maximals.

Before the clone could be placed amongst the Maximals, the real Dinobot had to be removed. Who took care of the real Dinobot?

Terrorsaur. Dinobot was out walking alone, complaining about his boredom. Terrorsaur quickly snuck up from behind and gladly remedied the situation for Dinobot.

Where was the real Dinobot trapped?

In a cave. Once Terrorsaur had Dinobot's attention, he lured him into a cave. When Dinobot was inside, Terrorsaur flew out and fired a few blasts at the cave, causing it to collapse around Dinobot.

When the clone was originally inserted, he was supposed to remove the Maximals from the base to where they could easily be eliminated. The clone told a story of a large Predacon attack force, but Optimus couldn't detect one on the scanners, and instead sent the clone and Rattrap on a reconnaissance mission. How did the clone try to eliminate Rattrap?

By making him fall into a lava river. While out on their mission, Rattrap transformed in preparation of having to face the Predacons, but Dinobot reminded him that Optimus had only asked for a fix on the Predacon location, which could be better performed in beast mode. Opting not to fight was not a characteristic of the real Dinobot, and should have been a tipoff for Rattrap. When scouting for the bogus Predacons, they had to cross a log over a river of lava. The clone recommended that Rattrap go first, which he did without question. The clone then kicked the log down into the river. Unfortunately for the clone, Rattrap was a little more dexterous than anticipated, and survived the ordeal.

The clone returned to the base and told Optimus that Rattrap had been captured after they had been ambushed. Optimus left at once and led a search party to find and retrieve Rattrap. The clone was then the only one left in the base and was free to do what he pleased. His first objective was to disable the shield. Why could the clone not deactivate Sentinel?

He did not have the deactivation codes.. The clone, apart from being unable to transform, also did not possess a Maximal energy signature, and was therefore required to enter a deactivation code into order to bring down the shields. The clone had not been made aware of any code, and was shocked (literally) when his attempts at guessing it were incorrect.

Who went with Optimus and found Rattrap?

Cheetor. Cheetor was able to follow Rattrap's scent to the point where the log had been. When Optimus arrived, he wondered about Rattrap's possible demise, but Optimus kept him optimistic. Rattrap ended up saving himself without the help from is fellow Maximals, and told them about the rogue Dinobot.

Tigatron was the first to deduce that the clone was not the real Dinobot.

f. Tigatron was not actually featured in this episode, but had he been near the clone, he probably would have been able to tell that it wasn't the real Dinobot. Tigatron was the Maximal's scout, and an expert tracker and hunter, more at home in the wild than at the base.

Who ended up deactivating shield around the Maximal base?

Dinobot. The real Dinobot had freed himself from his stony prison, and had made his way back to the base. On his approach, he used a voice activated command to deactivate the shield. By this time, the clone was just hitting buttons and switches at random, trying to remove the shield and was relieved when Sentinel said that the shield had been deactivated.

What characteristic in particular of the real Dinobot did the clone not share?

Honor. When Dinobot was back at the base he met his clone. Dinobot got ready to fight, and transformed, and asked the clone why he did not also. The clone admitted his inability to do so, and Dinobot returned to beast mode so that he might have an honorable, fair fight. When Dinobot was transforming back into beast mode, the clone used the opportunity to get in a quick shot. After a quick fight in the main area of the base, it seemed the clone had won. Megatron finally reached the Maximal base where he was greeted by his clone. As he was walking towards it, however, Sentinel came back online and blasted the leader of the Predacons. Megatron realized that the Dinobot that had come to greet him was actually the authentic one, and, after the other Maximals showed up, made a hasty retreat.

What happened to the clone?

Dinobot ate him.. Rattrap was still skeptical about the whole clone story, and asked where the clone was to prove it. Dinobot told him that the clone was gone for good, and admitted that it was a shame to lose such a handsome creature... Who was also quite tasty. Optimus simply told Dinobot that he was disgusting.
