Fun Trivia: A : Adams, Douglas

Special Sub-Topic: Hitchhiker Time: A guide to the Galaxy Part 4

How many times, while taking Ford and Arthur to the airlock, does the Vogon guard say, "Resistance is useless!"?

five. Ford and Arthur try to talk him out of taking them to the airlock, but don't succeed.

What tune does Ford start humming in the airlock?
A Betelgeusian battle hymn. Yes, it was a Betelgeusian battle hymn.

What did Arthur's mother tell him when he was young?
Arthur didn't listen.. This is a funny part of the story. But then again, all of the story is funny.

What does "The Hitchhikers' Guide" say about space?
"Space, is big. Really Big.". Yes, space is really big. I hope you've figured that out before now.

How many seconds did it take for Arthur and Ford to get picked up after being thrown out of the airlock?
    29. The Heart of Gold picks them out of space just before their time runs out.

When Arthur and Ford are first picked up by the Heart of Gold, what does Arthur say it's a nice day for?
Being mad. They are in the Heart of Gold and the Improbability Drive is on, so they think they're going mad.

While in the Heart of Gold with the Improbability Drive on, what type of food pops out of the ground for ten pence each?
Hot doughnuts. Some very odd things happened to them in the Heart of Gold.

The improbability drive is an odd thing; it even makes Ford look like he's turning into a large flightless bird. What kind of bird?
penguin. I'm not sure there's any interesting info I can add to this question. Isn't the fact that he's a penguin enough?

What powers the Heart of Gold?
the Infinite Improbability Drive. The Infinite Improbability Drive is a round Golden Sphere, hence the name "Heart of Gold".

While in the Heart of Gold, Arthur and Ford are chased by an infinite number of monkeys. What do these monkeys want?
They want to talk to Arthur and Ford about a script for "Hamlet" they've worked out. I think Douglas Adams made this quote in reference to the quote "If an infinite number of monkeys are given typewriters for an infinite amount of time, they will eventually produce the complete works of Shakespeare."
