Which franchise was once known as the Boston Beaneaters?

    Atlanta Braves. The franchise began in 1876 as the Boston Red Caps. The Beaneater name came from 1883-1906. The Beaneaters won six National League Championships under the name.

Which Major League franchise was once known as the Gothams?
    San Francisco Giants. They took the name of New York Gothams in their first two seasons of franchise existence in 1883 and 1884. They changed the name to New York Giants from 1885-1957, until the team moved to San Francisco.

Which franchise had the name of Perfectos?
    St. Louis Cardinals. The franchise began in 1882 as the St. Louis Brown Stockings. The name Perfectos was in only one season, in 1899, before adopting the Cardinal name in 1900.

Which National League franchise once had the name, Blue Jays?
    Philadelphia Phillies. Philadelphia's National League franchise began in 1883 as the Quakers. The name was changed to the Phillies in 1890, and they kept the name until 1943 when they changed their name to the Blue Jays. The name was changed back to Phillies in 1945.

The New York Yankee franchise began with which name?
    Baltimore Orioles. The name Highlanders lasted for 10 seasons from 1903-1912, but this was after the team was called the Baltimore Orioles in 1901 and 1902.

Which team began their franchise as the White Stockings in 1876?
    Chicago Cubs. The name Cubs, was the fourth name in their franchise history. Starting with the new National League in 1876, the White Stockings kept the name until 1889. They changed the name to the Chicago Colts from 1890-1897, then the Orphans through 1902, when the Cubs' name took over in the following season.

Which team was once named the Bronchos?
    Cleveland Indians. The franchise began with the emergence of the new American League in 1901 as the Cleveland Blues. 1902 saw them as the Bronchos before becoming the Naps from 1903-1914. The Indians name came into the picture in 1915.

The Kansas City Royals began their franchise with which name?
    Kansas City Royals. An expansion team in 1969, the Royals went to their first World Series in 1980, but lost to the Phillies. They came back and won it all in 1985 against the Cardinals.

Which team once had the name, Bees?
    Atlanta Braves. From the Red Caps in 1876 when the National League began, to the Beaneaters, then Doves, and finally Bees from 1936-1940, they still couldn't finish better than fifth place even with the Bees name change. The franchise became the Atlanta Braves in 1966, after moving from Milwaukee.

Which team was once named the Orphans?
    Chicago Cubs. The Chicago Orphans was their third franchise name, having it from 1898-1902, before becoming the Cubs in 1903.
