I took off from Frankfurt Main International Airport in Germany on Icelandair, the national flag carrier of Iceland. I circled around a peninsula in southwestern Iceland and landed at the largest airport in the country, and hub for Icelandair. Where am I?

    Keflavík International Airport. Keflavík International Airport is the largest airport and main international gateway of Iceland. Icelandair is the national airline of Iceland and has hub operations at Keflavík. The airport lies in the city of Keflavík, approximately 50km from Reykjavík. Reykjavík Airport is located in downtown Reykjavík and is used exclusively for domestic flights and flights to Greenland. Copenhagen Airport is in Denmark and Akureyri is a small city located in northeastern Iceland.

I took off from Charlotte/Douglas International Airport on US Airways, heading north. Before landing, my plane was routed over Three Mile Island, a nuclear power plant known for its partial meltdown in 1979.     Queenstown International Airport. Queenstown International Airport is the main gateway of Queenstown, New Zealand, a major resort town located in the south-western part of New Zealand´s South Island. Queenstown is very popular for adventure sports during both summer and winter, including mountain biking, bungy jumping and skiing. The airport is served primarily by domestic flights, but there are also year-round flights to Sydney and seasonal flights to Brisbane on Qantas.

I took off from London-Heathrow International Airport on Emirates Airlines, heading towards one of the largest and most important cities in the Middle East. The airport that I am about to land in is not only Emirates' major hub, but also a focus city for Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines and Yemenia. Where am I about to land?
    Dubai International Airport. Dubai is the largest airport in the United Arab Emirates, and also the main hub for Emirates, the largest airline in the Middle East. 28.7 million passengers passed through the airport in 2006. Over 50 percent of all flights in and out of Dubai are Emirates aircraft. The airport is currently under a major expansion project that will make it the fourth largest airport in the world by total land area and also fully Airbus A-380 compatible.

I took off from Miami International Airport on an American Airlines flight bound for South America. My destination is the largest city in the country, and one of the largest cities in all of South America. I am on final approach into the airport, called Simón Bolívar International Airport of Maiquetia. Where am I?
    Caracas, Venezuela. Simón Bolívar International Airport of Maiquetia is the largest airport in the country of Venezuela, and the former hub of defunct Venezuelan flag carrier, VIASA. Over 7 million passengers passed through the airport in 2005.

I took off from Paris-Charles de Gaulle International Airport on China Eastern Airlines heading towards, you guessed it, China. The city in which I am about to land is not only the hub of the airline, but also the largest city in China. What major Asian airport am I about to land in?
    Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Shanghai Pudong International Airport is the largest international gateway in China, beating Beijing Capital International Airport by approximately 4.5 million international passengers. It is the 8th busiest airport in Asia in terms of passenger traffic. Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport is used primarily for domestic flights, with international flights only to Seoul-Gimpo International Airport and Tokyo-Haneda International Airport.

Returning from my vacation in Fuerteventura on LTU International, I am about to land in a major European city, and the largest in Germany. The airport is not the only one serving my destination, but the only one not located within city limits. Referred to by some as "The Holiday Airport," where am I about to land?
    Berlin-Schönefeld International Airport. Berlin-Schönefeld International Airport is one of three airports serving Germany´s capital city, Berlin. It is referred to as "The Holiday Airport" because it is served mostly by international charter flights. LTU International is a German airline based in Düsseldorf with flights to Asia, Africa, North America, the Middle East, and Central America.

Taking off from Abu Dhabi International Airport on Ethiad Airways, my journey now takes me to Africa. I am heading toward the second largest city in Africa. This country is the home of the only remaining member of the Seven Wonders of the World. Where am I about to land?
    Cairo International Airport. Cairo International Airport is the second largest airport on the continent of Africa, behind OR Tambo International Airport. It is the main hub for EgyptAir. Nearly 11 million people passed through the airport in 2006. The Great Pyramid of Giza, not far from Cairo, is the only remaining member of the Seven Wonders of the World.

At last I am heading back to the United States. Taking off from Toronto-Pearson International Airport on Air Canada, I am heading towards an airport in southwestern Florida. Air Force One was at this airport on September 11, 2001, before President George W. Bush was informed of the terrorist attacks at 9:05AM. Which popular wintertime airport am I about to land in?
    Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport is one of four major airports serving southwest Florida. It is popular during wintertime for people who want to escape cold weather in their hometowns and decide to vacation in Florida. At 9:05AM, Andrew Card was the first person to inform President Bush about the September 11th terrorist attacks. Fifty minutes later Air Force One took off from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport en route to Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.
