1. Which Hall of Fame pitcher was nicknamed "Goose"?

Answer: Rich Gossage

Gossage played with nine teams over his 22 seasons in the big leagues. He won the 1978 AL Rolaids Relief Award, and retired with 310 career saves. He was inducted into Cooperstown in 2008.
2. Which pitcher who threw 12 perfect innings in a game but lost, was nicknamed "Kitten"?

Answer: Harvey Haddix

The game occurred in 1959 when Haddix, a Pittsburgh Pirate went 12 perfect innings but lost the game in the 13th. Ironically, Harvey went 12-12 in the season.
3. Frank Isbell was nicknamed "Bald Eagle". Which of the following was nicknamed "The Grey Eagle"?

Answer: Tris Speaker

Speaker played most of his career with the Red Sox and Indians from 1907-1928. Tris won the AL MVP in 1912. He was known for hitting doubles in his career, and led the league eight times. He retired with an amazing 792 career doubles, a record that stood throughout the entire century.
