The Bulldogs went on to win 46-28. Braith Anasta scored the first try of 2005.

An amazing game. Queensland led 19-0, then NSW made a comeback to take the lead 20-19 with only a few minutes to go. Jonathon Thurston levelled the scores at 20-20 with two minutes to go, and in extra time, Matt Bowen took an intercept to win the match for the maroons.

Both teams scored 3 tries, 4 goals and a field goal to come away even after 90 minutes of play. Bulldogs centre Cameron Phelps looked to have scored a winning try during extra time but Jamaal Lolesi was ruled to be offside during the play and the try was disallowed.
