1. Beast

Answer: Main Characters

Hank McCoy (aka Beast) was a blue-haired muscular mutant with the strength and agility of an ape.

Despite his physical appearance, Beast was one of the most intelligent members of the X-Men, perhaps even more so than Professor Xavier. Beast made his debut with the rest of the main cast in the pilot episode "Night of The Sentinels" where he was part of a strike team that infiltrated the Mutant Control Agency. Beast ended up getting captured and spent almost the entirety of the first season in prison. He would be featured a lot more often in subsequent seasons.
2. Cyclops

Scott Summers (aka Cyclops) was the field commander of the X-Men. His mutation caused him to generate laser beams from his eyes. Cyclops wore special glasses and a visor made of ruby quartz which helped him to control his power.

Cyclops always seemed to have bad luck in his relationship with Jean Grey. In the episode "Captive Hearts", he and Jean were kidnapped by the Morlocks while they were on a date. In the episode "Till Death Do Us Part", they were married by a fake priest and were later kidnapped by Mr. Sinister during their supposed honeymoon. Cyclops also was forced to watch his wife die during "The Phoenix Saga".
3. Gambit

Remy LeBeau (aka Gambit) had the ability to charge inanimate objects with kinetic energy which exploded when they struck their target. His favorite thing to charge up were playing cards.

Gambit was the ladies man of the X-Men. He would often flirt with good-looking women, especially Rogue. Gambit grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana and spoke with a Cajun accent. He was also a former member of a thieves guild in Louisiana and his loyalty to the X-Men was questioned several times during the series. He was thought to have deserted the team at Genosha and even accused of being an assassin, both of which were eventually proven to be false.
4. Jean Grey

Jean Grey was a mutant with psychokinetic abilities. She could also read minds albeit to a lesser degree than Charles Xavier.

Jean Grey was often kind and soft-spoken and generally showed great care for her colleagues. She had a romantic relationship with Cyclops, though she did show to have romantic feelings towards Wolverine at the same time. Jean Grey was killed at the conclusion of "The Phoenix Saga". However, she would be resurrected later during "The Dark Phoenix" story arc.
5. Jubilee

Jubilation Lee (aka Jubilee) was a teenage mutant who had the ability to generate fireworks.

Jubilee was the first main character to make an appearance in the pilot episode "Night of the Sentinels". Fearing her developing mutant powers, Jubilee's foster parents reported her to the Mutant Control Agency who sent the Sentinels (giant robot drones) out to capture her. She was saved by the X-Men who happened to be at the same mall where she was attacked. Jubilee would eventually move into the X-Mansion by the end of the episode.
6. Rogue

Rogue was a member of the X-Men with the ability to drain the life energy from anyone she came into physical contact with. If she touched another mutant, she would also inherit their powers.

Rogue was a tough woman with a thick Southern American accent. Before joining the X-Men, Rogue had an encounter with the heroine Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers). She used her mutant ability to permanently absorb Ms. Marvel's powers which included super strength and the ability to fly. This also put Ms. Marvel into a deep coma for years. Rogue often got frustrated with her mutant power as it prevented her from getting physical with her love interests.
7. Storm

Ororo Munroe (aka Storm) was a mutant with the ability to control weather. She was often considered to be the second-in-command of the X-Men.

Storm was born in Africa near Mount Kilimanjaro and suffered from severe claustrophobia. During the series, she was declared to be the leader of the Morlocks (a group of homeless mutants who lived underground) after defeating their former leader Callisto in a duel. While she did not have a child of her own, she was considered a godmother to a young boy named Mj'Nari, whom she had saved during childbirth.
8. Wolverine

Answer: Main Characters

Logan (aka Wolverine) was a mutant with an enhanced immune system as well as enhanced senses such as hearing and scent. In the comics, his signature claws were also part of his mutation.

Wolverine's healing factor was key to his being chosen by the Canadian government for a secret program named Weapon X, where scientists infused his skeleton and of course his claws with an indestructible metal called adamantium. Wolverine had an extremely short fuse and was often at odds with Cyclops.
9. Archangel

Warren Worthington III (aka Angel/Archangel) was an affluent mutant with giant bird-like wings.

Archangel was a guest character in "X-Men: The Animated Series", appearing in eleven episodes. He made his first appearance in the season one episode "The Cure", where he was tricked into believing he was to be cured of his mutation. Instead, he was brainwashed into becoming one of the villain Apocalypse's Four Horsemen (specifically Death). In addition to being brainwashed, Archangel's organic wings were replaced with steel ones, which he would later seek revenge against Apocalypse for.
10. Banshee

Sean Cassidy (aka Banshee) was an Irish mutant with the ability to fly and generate destructive sound waves when he screamed.

Banshee was a guest character, having appeared in nine episodes of "X-Men: The Animated Series". He made his first appearance in "The Dark Shroud", the second part of "The Phoenix Saga" during season three. In the episode, Banshee teamed up with the X-Men when Professor Xavier and an alien woman named Lilandra came under attack at Muir Island in Scotland.
11. Bishop

Bishop was a mutant who had the ability to absorb energy and channel it back out.

Bishop was a guest character in "X-Men: The Animated Series", having appeared in ten episodes in total. He lived in a dystopian future and on several occasions traveled back in time in the attempt to alter history and change things for the better in his timeline. He made his first appearance in the season one episode "Days of Future Past", where he traveled to the mid-90's (the cartoon's present) to prevent an assassination.
12. Colossus

Piotr Rasputin (aka Colossus) was a Russian mutant who was able to generate a steel skin and had superb strength.

Colossus only made two appearances in "X-Men: The Animated Series". He first appeared in the season one episode "The Unstoppable Juggernaut", where the X-Men accused him of destroying the X-Mansion. Colossus made his second and last appearance in the episode "Red Dawn", where he asked the X-Men to help him find out who wrecked his hometown in Russia.
13. Iceman

Bobby Drake (aka Iceman) was a mutant who had the ability to generate and control ice.

Iceman only made five appearances in "X-Men: The Animated Series". His first appearance came in "Days of Future Past", but it was only a cameo. In his spotlight episode "Cold Comfort", Iceman was shown to a former member of the X-Men who left due to personal conflicts between him and Professor Xavier. Jubilee became sympathetic to Iceman and helped him escape after he was imprisoned by the X-Men following a botched raid on a military base.
14. Nightcrawler

Kurt Wagner (aka Nightcrawler) was a blue-skinned mutant with devil-like proportions. In addition, he had the ability to instantaneously teleport from one location to another.

Nightcrawler only made three appearances in "X-Men: The Animated Series". He made his first appearance in his titular episode "Nightcrawler", which aired during the show's fourth season. There he lived in a German town that despised him. He later encountered several members of the X-Men who had been visiting his country during a ski vacation.
15. Psylocke

Elizabeth Braddock (aka Psylocke) was another mutant with psychic powers. She often used her powers to generate psychic weapons such as knives and bows.

Psylocke only appeared in four episodes of "X-Men: The Animated Series", although her first two episodes were only very brief cameos. She was properly featured in the four-part episode "Beyond Good and Evil", where she was captured by the villain Apocalypse along with several other psychic mutants, including Jean Grey and Professor Xavier.
