Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Maria Hill calls Nick Fury back to Earth because there's evidence that Skrull rebels are hoping to incite a war between the United States and what other nation?

Answer: Russia

In Moscow in the present day, Agent Everett Ross hides in the shadows and meets with Agent Prescod who, theorizing on a number of recent global terrorist attacks, thinks on the web of chaos that's been sowed as of recently. There's an architect to all of it, he says, and it's escalating. It's Skrulls, he claims, and it started thirty years ago when Captain Marvel and Nick Fury vowed to find them a new planet. They could be anybody, anywhere, at any time. Ross says that there are only a few on Earth, but they could never know how many are actually around the globe. Unfortunately, Fury isn't coming back to Earth without evidence. Prescod has it though, and he shows Ross. The problem is that Prescod doesn't fully trust him-- instead he attacks Ross, leading Ross to need to kill him to save his own life.

Ross calls for an extract, racing through the Moscow streets on Maria Hill's directions and being pursued the whole way. Ross leaps from a building during the chase, gravely injuring himself when he hits the ground below, but he does so just as Hill arrives. She aims her weapon at the pursuer to discover that it's actually Talos in disguise, and he's there to reveal that he hasn't actually been chasing Ross, but a Skrull rebel.

Fury returns to Earth after an extended trip in outer space, touching down on terrafirma to reunite with Hill and Talos in Russia. It leads to a frank talk between Fury and Talos wherein the latter reveals his daughter left shortly after The Blip. Further, when Fury returned, he was clearly a changed man. Talos was pushed into exile while another Skrull, Gravik, took his place on the council, and there he feeds off the rage of the displaced Skrull to garner more support. They don't know exactly where he is, but he's in Russia. The plan that the fake Ross intercepted notes a dirty bomb and a plan to incite war between Russia and the U.S.

On the night of his return, Fury talks a walk around Moscow. It's then that he's captured. A sack is placed over his head; he's placed into an unmarked, black van. When the hood's taken off, it turns out to be Sonya Falsworth who's responsible. Fortunately they're friends.
2. Maria Hill is killed during the attack in Vossoyedineniye Square by someone impersonating which of these?

Answer: Nick Fury

Fury makes himself at home in Sonya's office, placing bugs in amongst her belongings while she makes him a drink. She refuses his offer to work together to stop Gravik, but he has everything he needs; he just needs to wait. Before long he, Hill, and Talos listen in and discover, through a conversation held between Sonya and the British Prime Minister, that a scientist by the name of Vasily Poprishchin is the likely candidate for creating the bombs to be used in the upcoming attacks.

Somewhere outside of Moscow, G'iah welcomes a new Skrull to the compound, informing him that they are now five hundred strong in their compound alone. Deeper inside, the Skrull warriors take the form of captured prisoners before taking the contents of their minds. G'iah is sent to collect Poprishchin and bring him to the Moscow safe house. She's not the only one searching for him, however. Fury and Talos arrive to get answers and are forced to kill their only lead.

It's Hill who spots G'iah and pursues her through the streets, fighting with her in the tunnels beneath the city until Talos can catch up and take up the chase. Ironically, G'iah happens to be his daughter and she's been fighting for the other side, seeking a way home. Talos informs her that her mother is dead and he promised he would find her. He asks her to relinquish Poprishchin's bombs, but she continues without him instead, having a crisis of conscience as she leaves. That night, G'iah meets with her father in an abandoned alleyway to get answers, kindly telling him that the bomb attack is planned to be held the next day, Unity Day, and Gravik knows that he'll be there at Vossoyedineniye Square. She'll mark each bag with infrared spray so he'll know which contain the bombs.

And that's why, the next day, Fury, Hill, and Talos arrive on time for the attack, showing up to keep their eyes peeled for suspicious couriers. They spy G'iah carrying two backpacks but miss the hand-off. It doesn't much matter though-- as Fury catches up to his courier, he realizes he's been following Gravik all along. Worse, neither of the bags being chased contain the explosives-- they were always decoys. Gravik hits the detonator and lets the bombs go off, killing many innocent bystanders. Though Fury chases him, he loses the culprit in the chaos. Hill moves to follow Fury, who beckons her over, but he, likewise, turns out to be a fake. He morphs back into Gravik as another explosion rings out. There's nothing Fury can do but hold Maria in his arms as she dies in the square.
3. Gravik rises to claim what rank amongst the Skrull?

Answer: General

In 1997, in Brixton, London, Nick Fury met Gravik for the first time, learning that he was orphaned-- his parents were killed by the Kree-- but that he could be a great resource in helping the Skrull race find a new home. With Talos by his side, Fury gave a rousing speech, convincing recruits to assist him in protecting Earth while he and Carol Danvers pursued leads. If they kept their word, he would keep his.

In Vossoyedineniye Square, Fury attempts to perform CPR on Maria Hill, failing to revive her while G'iah and Gravik escape unscathed. Fortunately, as people are apprehended, Fury is nabbed by Talos and brought away. The two take a train, leaving Moscow bound for Warsaw while the authorities hunt for them, and it's on this ride that Talos tells him the truth, that all of the Skrulls who fled their home planet-- all million of them-- are on Earth.

Out in the world, Russia considers the bombing a declaration of war on the U.S.' part. G'iah drops Gravik off at an undisclosed location and isn't allowed to join him inside. It turns out to be a meeting of the Skrull Council, all comprised of high-ranking officials in international politics. The Council blames Gravik for harming two thousand innocent humans, but Gravik sways them all, reminding them that Fury abandoned their species. They will take Earth as their home instead, even if that means a war, and Gravik will be Skrull General.

Talos is quickly informed of Gravik's plan and, through his connections, Talos sets up a meeting with the new Skrull General, intending to talk about his daughter. G'iah, meanwhile, returns to the Skrull base with Gravik and discovers that a lab is being used to create something dangerous. She later speaks to Gravik, after sneaking off and investigating the research, before they head out to locate Brogan, a captured rebel.
4. Who's sent to London to fire Fury from his job?

Answer: Col. James Rhodes

In London, Colonel James Rhodes is brought in to speak on the events as they occurred in Moscow on behalf of the U.S. government. He later meets with Fury at a local tavern and discusses the concerning situation that seems to have been created, but Fury isn't too concerned with the politics yet-- before long they could be overtaken by the Skrull. Rhodes calls for a car for Fury, assuring him there's nothing that can be done. The alleged enemy is too powerful and only Fury can stop them. It's why Rhodes volunteered to inform Fury that he's been discharged. Instead of taking the car, Fury departs on his own, heading home and reuniting with his wife, Priscilla, who's actually a Skrull hidden in plain sight. Amazingly, she's been in his life since 1998. She tells him that she became a widow in his absence; it's been hard. He asks if she's spoken to Gravik lately and she doesn't answer.

Sonya Falsworth arrives at a butcher's shop to find the imprisoned rebel Skrull, Brogan, chained up in the back. Forcing his captors out of the room, she starts by cutting off his finger, then she proceeds with the chemicals, overheating his blood from the inside. It's through this method that she extracts the info she needs-- the Skrulls are making technology that will make their species stronger, and they're using a scientist couple, the Daltons, to complete the research. She manages to escape out an escape hatch before Gravik arrives. When he gets into the freezer, Brogan is brought to the car, driven into the woods, and killed for giving away the intel.

Gravik continues to put his chess pieces in place, leaving rebels in the Royal Navy to attack the U.N. from within. All of this happens despite the setback as his scientists' lab work is culminating in a great showing. He invites the council to see the results, showing to them that he's created Super-Skrulls, a powerful step in Skrull evolution that will break humanity's back. He later wakes G'iah-- tomorrow they'll be heading out together.
5. What code word allows Talos to call off the missile strike on the U.N. aircraft?

Answer: Zachary

Gravik and G'iah travel to London together and the former discusses that Talos wished to speak to him, likely about G'iah. It's why, when Gravik leaves their car, G'iah leaks information about the upcoming attacks to her father. She doesn't know that Gravik has indicated he would kill her if Talos gets in his way. Talos knows Gravik will spill too much blood if the Skrulls keep attacking humanity and he threatens to reveal everything to the world. Their conversation ends in aggression as Talos departs, meeting with Fury at a nearby pub to squash their misgivings with each other, and proceed as a team.

Fury and Talos, with G'iah's burner phone in hand, give Falsworth a call to explain the situation. She gives away the name Fury needs-- Commodore Robert Fairbanks-- and he and Talos proceed to meet this individual at his house and unearth more information about the impending attack, breaking in and taking Fairbanks' son hostage in the process. Fury is able to take Talos out of Fairbanks' custody in exchange for his son, and with that the interrogation begins. In the meantime, a nuclear sub gets the confirmed order to launch its missiles.

The situation intensifies from all angles shortly after Fury and Talos start their talk with Fairbanks. Fairbanks withholds the missile code as the U.N. plane flies over, and in the heat of the moment, Talos angrily kills the Commodore, revealed to be a Skrull, for speaking ill of his daughter. Talos calls G'iah for help and she pulls through, providing the launch termination password from the actual Commodore's memories just in time for Talos to send it to the sub.
6. G'iah is shot in the chest by Gravik. Does the gunshot kill her?

Answer: No

Though Talos is able to have the missile launch aborted, stopping what would have been World War III, G'iah is caught infiltrating the Skrull databases; Gravik intercepts her as she tries to escape on a motorbike. As she heads down the forest road near the Skrull base, he blocks her path, lets her explain, and shoots her in the chest, leaving her to die.

Gravik isn't aware, however, that G'iah factored the likelihood of being caught into her plan. It's why she entered the lab, flipped the switch, and let herself be overcome with his Super-Skrull machine's capabilities. After Gravik departs, her body miraculously heals.

G'iah ends up meeting at a quiet spot to speak to her father and he apologizes for putting her into such a difficult spot. She lets him know that the only place she belongs is with him; all he needs is a plan so that they can find a new home. The problem is that his plan isn't too great. He and Fury plan on speaking directly to the President of the United States in an effort to gain amnesty for a million Skrulls. He believes that humanity will see them if they show their hearts, but G'iah thinks it's a poor plan bound to fail.
7. Priscilla, Nick Fury's wife, is revealed to have assumed her identity from a woman on her deathbed. Which of these is NOT a promise she agreed to make when she assumed this role?

Answer: To find a new home

At Fury's house, Priscilla collects her keys and departs, heading to her bank to check the contents of a safety deposit box. She opens it to find an envelope containing a gun. Her phone rings and directs her to St. James Church. She asks to speak to Gravik, but is refused the opportunity.

When Priscilla arrives at the church she's met by Col. Rhodes who admits to firing Fury, but is relying on her to finish the job by killing her alleged husband. Little do they both know, Fury is listening in on their conversation, having planted a bug on Priscilla earlier.

When Priscilla returns home Fury confronts her, serving her tea before revealing that he knows the truth. He says that over time, the worst thing he did was marry her because it wasn't fair to either of them, especially considering the dangers of his line of work. The problem is that he wouldn't have done it differently, even knowing what he knows about her now.

Priscilla reveals that the real Priscilla had a congenital heart defect and wished that people wouldn't mourn her loss. At the time, she would visit her in the hospital, eventually asking Priscilla if she wanted to fall in love. Explaining the situation, the Skrull who would take her identity would convince her that it would be the decision that would ultimately result in the greatest good, but the original Priscilla made her Skrull mimicker promise three things: she would bury her at sea (which she did), she would continue to be a daughter to her parents (which she did), and she wouldn't hurt her lover. She explains that she truly did get what she wanted from this life-- to call herself beloved.

Both Priscilla and Fury raise their weapons at the same time and fire, but both of them intentionally miss. Priscilla says that she can hide herself from Gravik and the Skrulls on her own and Fury departs from their home.
8. Fury is able to track Col. Rhodes using which of these?

Answer: A bottle of bourbon

A Skrull takes a shower in their hotel room. Drying off, they shapeshift into Rhodes and prepare for their next meeting only to leave the bathroom and find Nick Fury waiting with a glass of expensive bourbon. Fury claims to be in the room to squash the beef between them and he drops the fact that there are Skrulls that have infiltrated the U.S. government. Rhodes plays dumb, brushing off Fury's belief as conspiracy. Fury asks for his job back, but Rhodes reveals he has footage of Maria Hill's death with Fury on the delivery end of a gunshot. He drinks Fury's bourbon before forcing him out. Little does he know, the drink contains a liquid location tracker.

Rhodes heads to a nearby private airport and intercepts U.S. President Ritson who, arriving for the most important political talks since the Cuban Missile Crisis, gets into a waiting vehicle. As the convoy heads onward to London, it's quickly intercepted by Gravik's men who, posing as Russian terrorists, blast his van off the road and descend from helicopters aiming to capture him.

Talos and Fury arrive on the scene intending to collect the President, much to Gravik's surprise as he starts to use his new powers to bring down the Ritson's men. As Talos attempts to smash into Ritson's car to free the unconscious extraction target, he's shot in the shoulder and starts to transform back into his Skrull form, forcing Fury to avoid turning their guns on the unknown figure. Talos is able to break into the vehicle, allowing Fury to get the President to safety, but moments too late as Gravik steps in and collects Talos and holds him hostage. Fury shoots at Gravik, but it's no use-- even a shot to the face heals instantly. Gravik pulls a knife and stabs Talos in the chest, leaving him to die before leaving on the back of a waiting motorcycle.

Fury is able to get President Ritson to the hospital, but the damage has been done by the Skrull Rhodes who, after leaving the President to be captured in his convoy, leaked the Maria Hill murder footage, leaving Fury a wanted man. On Gravik's orders, he also shows Ritson footage of the New Skrullos base in Russia, using this knowledge as leverage.

Gravik returns to his home base empty-handed (though with Talos dead) and his own soldiers start to worry about his capabilities as a leader. It's why he decides to lash out with his new powers, killing anyone who decides to stand against him and against the cause.
9. Where did Nick Fury have 'Harvest' hidden?

Answer: In a grave

With Fury now implicated in Maria Hill's death and news of alien invasion with footage of Talos circulating on TV, Falsworth visits her director, Derrik Weatherby, and shoots him in the leg. This reveals him as a Skrull to her fellow operatives and allows her to locate Dr. Rosa Dalton, one of the scientists responsible for Gravik's Super-Skrull machine. Finding her, she's able to get intel on the Skrulls' transgressive research. She takes what she needs and has her agents torch the rest.

Fury returns to Talos' old apartment to find that G'iah is there. She laments that her father died on a foreign planet but Fury reiterates that Talos choice the path of struggle. She can choose to get lost in grief or she can choose to fight, he says, and she accepts that she needs to bury her father. She does inform Fury that Gravik has used certain samples of DNA to become more powerful, but he's still searching for one particular sample referred to as the 'Harvest'. Fury knows where it is-- Finland. He leaves his keys with G'iah and has her meet with Priscilla to bury her father properly. The two have a solemn ceremony in the woods, torching his body on a pyre, before the end of the funeral is interrupted by Gravik's rebels.

Fury catches his plane and has a rendezvous in Finland with Falsworth, discovering en route that Rhodes has acted on Gravik's request to put New Skrullos in harm's way. Gravik tells him that there's a way to stop the strike on Russian soil and, once again, World War III. All it'll take is his delivery of the 'Harvest' and he'll need to bring it in person. Fury and Falsworth end up in a cemetery in front of a gravestone marked with Fury's name, and once they open that up, they find what they were looking for: 'Harvest'. As Fury explains, it's the motherlode of DNA samples-- one for each Avenger who saved the planet in the Battle of Earth. It's the ideal puzzle piece to finish the Super-Skrull formula. And Fury will deliver it to Gravik-- it's the next step in the plan.

And it appears that Fury arrives at New Skrullos, contending with the overwhelming radiation and handing over the 'Harvest' per Gravik's request. Fury asks him to leave Earth, taking the Skrulls elsewhere, but Gravik refuses, placing the 'Harvest' into his machine and using it to power himself up with all of the Avengers' powers. It works, giving Gravik immense strength, but it also works on Fury, who reveals himself to be G'iah in disguise. It all culminates in a fight to the death that G'iah wins, stopping the threat before not only freeing her people but the humans trapped in the facilities-- James Rhodes and Everett Ross included.
10. In the aftermath of the fight against Gravik, the U.S. government grants asylum to all Skrull on Earth.

Answer: False

The Skrull Rhodes manages to convince President Ritson, still being tended to in the hospital, that a nuclear strike needs to be executed at New Skrullos. Unfortunately for him, Falsworth has returned to London and gives the impression that Fury plans to attack the hospital. The result is an evacuation; Rhodes removes Ritson from his room, but the attack against his guards commences. Falsworth manages to get Rhodes caught at gunpoint, starting the standoff as the real Nick Fury arrives, having sent G'iah to New Skrullos. Fury explains everything and tells Ritson to call off the nuclear strike, insisting that Rhodes is a Skrull and that the real minds, captured beneath New Skrullos, will be lost if they execute the order. Rhodes tries to make his move, but Fury acts quicker, shooting him in the head and revealing his true form as a Skrull operative. It's enough, finally, to have Ritson call off the strike, sparing the Skrulls and their prisoners at the last second.

President Ritson sends out a message broadcast around the world declaring what he has discovered, and in doing so he announces that all off-world mortals residing on Earth will be considered enemy combatants, requiring that they leave the planet. They will be killed if they don't.

Fury returns home to find that Priscilla is still there. He apologizes for not being there to protect her, but she's fine; she can look out for herself. She wonders if he loves her or the face she took on. He claims that he does love her, but he's leaving that night and wants her to join him. She does, reuniting with him as he departs for S.A.B.E.R., intent on finding a new way to get the Skrulls off Earth and stop the recent wave of vigilantism aiming to wipe out hidden threats (and killing innocent humans in the crossfire). The first step: a peace talk between the Skrulls and the Kree.

G'iah, meanwhile, is met by Falsworth who, claiming to be a friend of Fury's, insists on subverting the recent plans with an effort to make Earth safe for both humans and Skrulls, at least until a better plan can take shape.
