Shortly after midnight Sharon Tate and her friends were murdered by the Charles Manson so-called Family. She was stabbed sixteen times in what has become to be known as the Helter Skelter Murders because of graffiti left behind. To add to the horror, the heavily pregnant Sharon lost the baby that was due in two weeks time.

It was later revealed that this gang of people were targeting the former owner of the house and it was a case of mistaken identity. Sharon, at that time, was married to the then respected film-maker Roman Polanski. On the 40th anniversary of her passing in 2009, and with the blessing of her family, American contemporary artist Jeremy Corbell created a 350 piece historic art exhibition celebrating Sharon's life and style.
