Bob Marley was born in 1945, and he died in 1981 of cancer. In 1976, when he was shot, he still performed at the famous "Smile Jamaica" concert only two days later. Note what he said about the incident and concert performance:

Marley's popular song, "I Shot the Sheriff" was released in 1973, and was found on the album "Burnin'".

He made dozens of hit singles, including "Lonely" (2005) and "Right Now (Na Na Na)" (2008). He also wrote songs for many, such as Lady Gaga and Leona Lewis. In fact, Lady Gaga as well as T-Pain can give credit of their fame to Akon.

Kelly Preston was born in 1962. She was a model and actress who had appeared in many films and television shows, including "Mischief" and "Secret Admirer" in 1985. She also appeared in the Maroon 5 music video for "She Will Be Loved". In 1990, after Charlie Sheen accidentally shot Kelly Preston, she broke off the engagement and married John Travolta.

Tupac Shakur was born in 1971 and he was murdered in 1996. Though Tupac Shakur's songs contained very controversial lyrics, that did not stop him from selling 75 million records in his short eight year rapping career. He was also an actor. In 1994, he was shot five times, but he survived.

It was less than two years later, however, that he was shot by a group of people in a white Cadillac, which did indeed end his life.

Carl Switzer was born in 1927, and he died in 1959. He was very well known for playing Alfalfa in the "Our Gang" series. His character was one of the most loved in the series. In 1958 he was shot in the arm, but he survived. In 1959, however, he died due to another gunshot.

Andy Warhol was a famous American painter and film maker born in 1928. He died in 1987. He was shot by Valerie Solanas in 1968, which almost killed him. It was also very traumatic for him, and the incident greatly affected his artwork. Unfortunately for him, his horrible incident was quickly overshadowed by another shooting; that of Robert Kennedy.

Vanilla Ice was born with the given name Robert Matthew Van Winkle (I'd be named Vanilla Ice, too, if I was a rapper with the name "Winkle") in 1967. His song, "Ice Ice Baby" (1990, on the album "To the Extreme"), became the first hip hop song to reach the number one spot on the Billboard charts in the United States. Though Vanilla Ice was considered to be a "one-hit wonder", that never stopped him from continuing to make more albums and releasing more singles. Even 20 years later, none of his songs even came remotely close to the success of "Ice Ice Baby". Vanilla Ice was also an actor, and in 1991, he was given the Golden Raspberry for "Worst New Actor". What luck he had, eh? One hit wonder, worst new actor, and still not discouraged! What a guy.
