Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In 'Caillou', what is the name of Caillou's baby sister?

Answer: Rosie

In French, 'caillou' means pebble or small stone. It is also used to mean somebody who is bald! Which meaning is more suitable for our funny little friend, do you think?
2. In which show could you sing along to, 'Funky Punky Rocker', 'Cow Groove', and 'E.N.E.R.G.Y.'?

Answer: Hi-5

'Hi-5' is a children's television show from Australia but it is watched in 83 countries!

"Five in the air!
Let's do it together,
Five to the side!
Who cares about the weather?
Five on the floor!
The party's on at your place,
Five to the front!
There's a smile on my face..."

Yes, I'm a fan too!
3. What is the name of the island where you would find Thomas the Tank Engine?

Answer: Sodor

Thomas' Branch Line runs from Knapford to Ffarquhar. Sodor is not actually a real place but in the stories it lies in the Irish Sea.
4. What is the name of Fireman Sam's fire engine?

Answer: Jupiter

'Fireman Sam' is based in Wales in a fictional town called Pontypandy (a mixture of two, real life towns - Pontypridd and Tonypandy). The main character (and Dylan's favourite), Norman Price is a mischievious but loveable little boy who causes chaos in nearly every episode. Good job Fireman Sam, "the hero next door" is close by to save the day!
5. What is the name of Bob the Builder's cat?

Answer: Pilchard

In Peru, Bob is known as 'Bob El Constructo'. He's known as 'Borek Stavitel' in the Czech Republic and (my favourite), 'Puuha-Pete' in Finland!
6. What type of dancing does Angelina Mouseling prefer?

Answer: Ballet

Angelina Mouseling is the main character in 'Angelina Ballerina' about a young mouse who dreams of becoming a famous ballerina. Her best friend, William Longtail, is always trying to impress her as he is very fond of her and, together, they have some wonderful adventures!
7. What colour is Barney's tummy?

Answer: Green

The rest of him is purple (apart from his yellow toenils!). Along with his friends, Baby Bop, BJ and Riff, Barney helps the neighbourhood children with their reading, writing, arithmetic and making sense of the world!
8. What type of animal is Pingu?

Answer: Penguin

Pingu and his friends speak a strange language called 'Penguinese' but they are quite easy to understand once you have watched it a couple of times! Pingu also makes funny noises which mean different things; "Nug-Nug" when upset or angry, "Hoo-Hoo" when happy or excited and "Meck-Meck" when he's being a little bit naughty!
9. What is the name of the funny train in 'The Night Garden'?

Answer: The Ninky Nonk

The 'Pinky Ponk' is an airship which has many fins and colourful flashing lights. The toys in the Night Garden use it to fly around the forest. The 'Stinky Stonk' and 'Dinky Donk' are names which Dylan calls it when he gets over-excited!
10. Complete the title: 'Fluffy ______'.

Answer: Gardens

"In Fluffy Gardens, something unexpected happens every day!" Characters in this show include Paulo the Cat, George the Mean Yellow Dog and Small Green Thing. Our favourite is Lola the Mosquito because she is so silly!
