Dumb waiters were used to manually lower garbage into the basement back in the early 20th century. That's my job now!

2. Who was Eric The Red?

Answer: A Norse explorer

Eric The Red, a Viking explorer, was the first European to visit Greenland. When I was in the army I was known as "Richicago the yellow"!

3. What is "Fat Tuesday"?

Answer: Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras is the day before Ash Wednesday. Its a traditional festival held annually in New Orleans. Fat Tuesday is the English Translation of Mardi (Tuesday) and Gras (Fat). My mother-in-law is so fat that she was baptized at Sea World!

4. What is a "Poopdeck"?

Answer: Part of a vessel

The poop is a small deck found (appropriately) at the stern of a ship.

5. Who is Joe Cocker?

Answer: A 60s rock star

Joe, who had many hit records, and was a featured performer at Woodstock, was known for his eccentric gestures while performing. My wife has often accused me of the same thing.

6. What is the definition of "Hot Pants"?

Answer: A 70s fashion style

Hot pants were the "In Thing" for women in the 70s. James Brown even had a hit song with "Hot Pants" in 1971.

Anyone who has visited the countryside has probably "stumbled" upon a road apple. One of my favorite desserts is Road apple pie. Won't you join me?

The word cheapskate is a compound word. The cheap part is easy to understand. Nobody is quite sure where skate came in to signify tightness. I'm not cheap myself, just poor. I'm so poor that I can't afford to pay attention!
