Sandry is hidden away by her Trader maid to save her from the mobs during the plague in Hatar. She calls light to the string because she is afraid of the dark. This is her first use of her magic.

2. What did the Honored Dedicate of Stone Circle Temple think was wrong with Tris? (As told to Niko)

Answer: "I don't know if she's possessed by a spirt, or part elemental, or carrying a ghost......"

Tris has been passed from relative to relative and then to Stone Circle because of the strange events that happen around her. No one knows about her magic yet. Her temper might have a bit to do with it too.

The five judges, two each of White and Blue Traders plus one mimander, declared that lone survivors are unlucky and should be banished from the rest of the Traders. Daja is given her new unmarked staff and sent away with Niko to Winding Circle.
