We get to learn three dwarven phrases in the book: "Kelye dtha"; "lyt chwaer", meaning "little sister"; "Guyll fyr", meaning "wildfire". We also see "derro"... I'm not sure of its exact translation, but it seems to mean "dark magic-using dwarf".

The term is applied to the Theiwar a lot, and once to Rance, thane of the Daergar.

Northgate was where the Dwarfgate War was fought 300 years before. A ruin, it was unofficially claimed by the Theiwar as their own -- not that the other dwarf clans really wanted anything to do with the place. Southgate is the functioning entrance to Thorbardin where the Pax Tharkas refugees requested admittance; the Deep Warrens was where Darknight/Sevrith's lair was and where Realgar tortured Hauk.

The Urkhan Sea is the centre of Thorbardin, on whose shore five of the six clan cities lay. The Hylar city is on a stalactite dipping down to the sea. (Thanks to Putzz77 for correcting the information on the Hylar dwarves' abode.)

Verminaard did. Sort of. I don't think Verminaard really had the authority to make others Highlords, since that's the title he holds himself. Either way... Emperor Ariakas had nothing to do with it, and whether or not Realgar was an "official" Highlord, Verminaard planned to kill him and steal Stormblade when he attacked Thorbardin anyway.

He says that "there [is] nothing more tender than young human flesh", and that dwarf meat is muscular and sinewy. He doesn't say anything about elf or orc meat.
