Answer: Josiah Beardsley

He was Claire's first, followed soon thereafter by his brother Keziah. They both had tonsillectomies.

2. Why doesn't Mrs. Bug have children, according to her?

Answer: It would kill her husband

After suffering numerous miscarriages, Mrs. Bug went to see a carline (a sort of healer who uses herbal remedies and charms) for a cure. He gave her a small charm and a prayer to say to keep a babe, but warned her that to do so would mean her husband's death... or so he had gathered from her "reading". Claire, although she doesn't agree with the carline's morals, concedes that perhaps it is easier for Mrs. Bug if she thinks it was her choice not to have children.

3. What name did Private Ogilvie overhear near Portsmouth, Virginia pertaining to Stephen Bonnet?

Answer: Karen

He couldn't remember if it was a woman or a ship. He also heard the name "Butler", but he couldn't remember if that was even about Bonnet.
