Sho Tsukioka was a member of Kazuo Kiriyama's gang, and the only openly gay student in the class. He was commonly known as Zuki to his friends, and in return he had nicknames for other members of the class, which were often deemed innappropriate - such as callin Kazuo "Kazuo-kun" when the rest of the gang called him "Boss".

Although Yoshitoki Kuninobu and Fumiyo Fujiyoshi were both murdered before this point, they were not killed as part of the program, but before it began. Mayumi was killed as she exited the school building, so we never found out whether she intended to play the game or not. Of all the students in the class, Mayumi is the one we learn the least about - even students like Fumiyo, Ryuhei, and Hiroshi have more details given about them.

Sho was one of the regular members of Kazuo Kiriyama's gang, and found it amusing to make false passes at fellow gang member Mitsura Numai. Mitsura felt uncomfortable about Sho's very open homosexuality, but he still hung around with the same group.

Sho's father ran a gay bar, so Sho was used to being surrounded by alcohol from quite a young age. While he is following Kazuo he stops to think how he'd like to be relaxing somewhere else, with his favourite drink. Sho is convinced his plan is flawless, and that he can win the game with his stealth, so he allows himself to daydream like this.

Mayumi's weapon was a nunchaku, but she never had the chance to use it as she was ambushed. Kazushi Niida took her day pack after he killed Yoshio Akamatsu, so he ended up with this weapon.

Fitting in with Sho's image as a stereotypical homosexual man, he liked to do certain things which are more often associated with women. In this case, Sho mentions that he enjoys painting his nails. It is mentioned a number of times that Sho takes particular pride in his appearance, and spends a great deal of time making sure he looks perfect.

Mayumi had been shot by Yoshio Akamatsu and his bowgun. As Shuya Nanahara exited the school he noticed that she had an arrow in her back. This is different from how it is portrayed in the film, where Mayumi struggles to speak to Shuya while she has an arrow through her neck.

Sho was following Kazuo Kiriyama - his plan was to let Kazuo kill off everyone else, then for him to kill Kazuo, and win the game. He didn't realise that Kazuo knew he was following him. Kazuo tricked him into thinking he was using a bathroom, when he'd actually left through the back of it. Sho knew he was near D=8, which was due to become a danger zone in a couple of minutes, but he knew that Kazuo would never be foolish enough to be caught in a danger zone, so he thought he was safe, and just outside the zone. Just as Sho realised Kazuo was no longer in the bathroom, his collar detonated.

Answer: Nothing - she is already dead when Shuya leaves

In the film version of "Battle Royale", Shuya leaves the school and meets Mayumi, who is dying. She seems confused and says something along the lines of "Shuya, what is this?" before dying. One of the differences between the novel and the film is that Mayumi is already dead by the time Shuya finds her in the novel - and he at first mistakes her body for a rubbish bag.

Sho was fortunate enough to find a gun in his day-pack, but he never used it. He was planning to shoot Kazuo Kiriyama from behind with it once they were the only two students left, but he seriously underestimated Kazuo!
