"A Bug's Life" Part Three Trivia Quiz

Answer: Rock

Earlier in the movie, Flik and Dot have a conversation in which Flik gives Dot a rock but tells her to pretend it is a seed, telling Dot that all trees start off as seeds and that Dot will eventually blossom into an adult ant just like seeds blossom into trees.

Despite having trouble understanding that she is supposed to pretend that the rock is a seed, Dot likes Flik for this. Later in the movie, after Flik is expelled from Ant Island and Dot overhears that the grasshoppers will eat all the food on the island and kill the queen, Dot flies across the canyon and tells Flik to come back, telling him what she overheard.

At first, Flik refuses to come back, telling Dot that he deserved to be expelled because he only makes things worse and telling Dot to go home so she doesn't make the same mistakes he made.

The circus bugs and Dot try as hard as they can to cheer him up. What works is when Dot gets a rock and tells him to pretend it is a seed. This is what convinces Flik to come home. The circus bugs, despite being confused about the rock, help Flik return home and decide to help the ants, this time using their circus talents rather than pretending to be warrior bugs.

Answer: Think about paying them

When Flik decides to return to Ant Island, the other circus bugs need to get P.T. Flea to do the same. Knowing that he wouldn't do so willingly, Francis distracts P.T. Flea by pointing and shouting, "Money!" When he's distracted, Rosie wraps him in a web.

The other circus bugs turn the truck around and go to Ant Island. P.T. Flea then promises that if they let him go, he will start THINKING about paying them. They lock him up inside the truck and web.

Answer: Tuck and Roll

When the circus bugs start to perform a show for the grasshoppers, Hopper asks them, "What's going on?" Not satisfied with Slim's answer, Hopper orders his gang to kill them. The circus bugs are terrified. Dim slowly steps back and accidentally launches the cannon, launching Tuck and Roll right in front of the grasshoppers. Tuck and Roll start speaking in some kind of bug language while dancing around, then they get into a fight.

The grasshoppers are entertained by the fight, thinking it is part of the act.

They then decide not to kill the circus bugs and watch the show.

Answer: Rescue the queen

Manny asks for a "volunteer" from the audience. Molt tries to volunteer, not knowing that the point of the show was to rescue the queen. The queen, despite not volunteering, is the one that Manny picks. The queen rides Dim up to a Chinese food container, hiding under his wings. Secretly, she does not get in the container but instead stays hidden under Dim's wings.

After Manny says "transformation" several times, Gyspy flies out of the container. The audience cheers, but then Hopper, not fooled, demands to know where the queen is.

This is when the ants deploy the fake bird.

Answer: P.T. Flea burns the bird.

It fools the grasshoppers at first, but then the bird accidentally crashes and destroys P.T. Flea's truck and the web he was trapped in. P.T. Flea, angry about this and not knowing that it was a fake bird (unlike the other circus bugs, P.T. Flea wasn't on Ant Island when the rest of the bugs made the fake bird and no one had been able to inform him about it or what was going on at Ant Island), burns the bird, forcing the ants to land it and revealing that it is a fake bird.

Answer: Unite and revolt against the grasshoppers

Once the grasshoppers learn that the bird is fake, Hopper tries to blame Atta. Flik then tells Hopper to leave her alone and that the bird was his idea. Hopper and the other grasshoppers beat up and badly bruise Flik, and Hopper asks Flik how he had the courage to come up with this idea. Flik then reveals that the grasshoppers were going to kill the queen, and Dot backs him up, shocking the rest of the ants. Hopper then tells the ants that ideas like that are dangerous and that ants are mindless creatures whose only purpose is to serve the grasshoppers. Flik tells Hopper that ants are not meant to serve grasshoppers and that the grasshoppers need the ants more than the ants need the grasshoppers.

While he's giving this speech, the other ants unite and the circus bugs unite with them.

They all rebel and chase the other grasshoppers off the island. Hopper refuses to leave, so they put him in the cannon.

Answer: It rains.

When Hopper refuses to leave the island, the ants and the circus bugs place him in the cannon that the circus uses. Dim's about to launch the cannon which would make Hopper leave the island, but then it rains. This causes all the bugs to freak out, which gives Hopper time to escape the cannon and grab Flik and fly off with him.

The circus bugs try to stop Hopper, but they all they can do is get one of his antennas. However, Atta manages to grab Flik and release him from Hopper's grasp.

Answer: The bird's nest

After Atta rescues Flik, Flik tells her to go to the bird's nest that he, Dot, and the circus bugs see earlier in the movie. Atta, who sees the bird but never sees the nest, doesn't understand what Flik is doing but trusts him and obliges. Hopper finds Flik there and threatens to kill him, but then the bird appears. Hopper thinks it's another fake bird and taunts it.

Then he discovers that the bird is real. The bird captures Hopper and feeds him to her chicks.

Answer: Molt

Molt is thoroughly entertained by the show when he sees it and doesn't care that the purpose of it was to rescue the queen. He doesn't want to oppress the ants and only does so earlier in the movie because he really doesn't want to anger Hopper. With Hopper dead, Molt is free to join the circus and is grateful that they gave him a chance.

Answer: Flik and Atta

At the beginning of the movie, Atta hates Flik because many of his inventions don't work properly and cause serious problems for the island. However, as the movie progresses, Flik's ideas work better and better. In addition, Flik stands up for Atta more than once when Hopper tries to demean her. So, Atta's feelings about Flik change.

At the end of the movie, Atta becomes the queen and Flik is engaged to the queen. Flik's best friend, Dot, becomes the new princess.
