Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Her portrayal of Alex Forrest in "Fatal Attraction" had married men thinking twice before stepping out on their wives. Who was the actress who turned in such a convincing performance?

Answer: Glenn Close

Alex Forrest was the beautiful woman with severe Borderline Personality Disorder in the 1987 film "Fatal Attraction". The film was the second highest grossing film in 1987, and was nominated for six Academy Awards, including Best Picture. This very talented actress has won four Tony Awards, and has been nominated for five Academy Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards.
2. In her breakout role, what actress portrayed the sadistic Lori Quaid in the movie "Total Recall"?

Answer: Sharon Stone

Sharon Stone's character was the wife of Douglas Quaid/Hauser (Arnold Schwarzenegger) in the 1990 movie "Total Recall". Sharon Stone went on to portray a few twisted characters in other movies, including her memorable role as Catherine Tramell in the 1992 hit "Basic Instinct", and her not so memorable role as Laurel Hedare in the 2004 movie "Catwoman".
3. Barbara Carrera portrayed the ruthless Fatima Blush in which James Bond movie?

Answer: Never Say Never Again

The 1983 film "Never Say Never Again" was a remake of an early James Bond film, "Thunderball", in which a madman steals two nuclear bombs with the idea to extort billions from nations. Fatima was this madman's henchman (woman). Barbara Carrera was quite sadistic in her role, but met her maker when James Bond blew her up in the movie.
4. She was cast as the villainess Juno Skinner in "True Lies", and as the monstrous Akivasha in "Kull the Conqueror". Who was this multi-talented actress?

Answer: Tia Carrere

Tia has shown her wide range of talent starring in comedies ("Wayne's World"), dramas ("Rising Sun"), and can play the convincing heavy. Tia is an actress/singer/model by trade and has won a Grammy Award in her career. She also was a contestant who made it to the fifth round in the 2006 season of "Dancing with the Stars".
5. Which actress portrayed the nasty Ma Fratelli in the 1985 classic "The Goonies"?

Answer: Anne Ramsey

There was no question that Ma was the leader of the Fratelli Gang in "The Goonies", and Anne played Ma perfectly. I enjoyed Anne more for her performance as Mrs. Lift in "Throw Momma from the Train", where she was nominated as Best Supporting Actress for her role.
6. The Devil isn't a nice person. Who portrayed the Devil in "Bedazzled"?

Answer: Elizabeth Hurley

Elizabeth starred as the Devil who granted Elliot Richards (Brendan Fraser) seven wishes in exchange for his soul in the 2000 release "Bedazzled". Elizabeth also played a mean spirited terrorist in the 1992 film "Passenger 57".
7. Who was the back stabbing Senator Lillian DeHaven from the movie "G.I. Jane"?

Answer: Anne Bancroft

Anne Bancroft has performed in many unforgettable roles in her career. Who can forget her as Mrs. Robinson in the 1967 film "The Graduate"? She also won the Best Actress Oscar for her role as Annie Sullivan in the 1962 film "The Miracle Worker". But I just can't get over how her role in "G.I. Jane" reminds me of a real life Senator who has served in Washington.
8. She liked to put a sledgehammer to good use in the movie "Misery". Who was this actress in the role of Annie Wilkes?

Answer: Kathy Bates

Kathy Bates won an Oscar in this 1990 film for Best Actress. The scene in "Misery" where she teaches the helpless writer Paul Sheldon (James Caan) a lesson still causes me to cringe every time I see it. In Kathy's lifetime, she has also won a Golden Globe award, and has been nominated for a Tony award.
9. The White Witch, Jadis, was as beautiful as she was evil in the film "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe". Which actress portrayed the White Witch?

Answer: Tilda Swinton

Tilda was nominated for a Saturn Award in 2006 for her role as Jadis. Tilda also portrayed the angel Gabriel in the 2005 film "Constantine". In 2008, she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress as Karen Crowder in the film "Michael Clayton".
10. Speaking of witches, the Wicked Witch of the West from the "The Wizard of Oz" is one of the most famous witches in film history. Who portrayed her?

Answer: Margaret Hamilton

In real life Margaret Hamilton, a former schoolteacher, loved children and animals, and was nothing like a witch. During filming of the "The Wizard of Oz", she suffered a terrible accident and was badly burned which resulted in her needing to be hospitalized.

The director had wanted a second take where Margaret, as the witch, disappeared from Munchkin Land in a ball of fire. In the second take, the trap door didn't open and she was hit with the full force of the flame.
