Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In what movie should rose petals have gotten their own credit?

Answer: American Beauty

Remember all rose petals in there - coming out of Lester's mouth, on Angela in the bath and when she's on the ceiling over Lester? Some people complained that the symbolism was too heavy handed, but I didn't mind.
2. This movie had a particularly memorable wood chipper in it:

Answer: Fargo

Marge comes upon the man trying to shove what was left of a man (mostly just his foot and ankle) into the wood chipper. This scene will live on in infamy.
3. What movie had an important gold watch?

Answer: Speed

Remember that the bomb on the bus used a timer made from the gold watch Howard Payne got when he left the force? He was pretty bitter about it, but it helped the cops figure out who the bomber was.
4. This unnerving movie had a peace pipe in it that saved the day. What movie is it?

Answer: Fear

David won the peace pipe for Nicole at the amusement park early on in the film. Then he had it driven into his back at the end when he was attacking the family.
5. This one's a little obscure, but try your best. This movie had a scene where one small cherry managed to turn the tables for the characters and give a villain some much needed perspective. What movie is this?

Answer: The Fifth Element

When Zorg summons Cornelius to his office and preaches to him about how all his little robots make work for lots of people, he starts to choke on a cherry. Cornelius' response: 'Where's the robot to pat you on the back? Or the engineer? Or the children, maybe? There, you see now, how all your so-called power counts for absolutely nothing now, how your entire empire can come crashing down because of one... little... cherry.' Then Cornelius pats him on the back and the cherry pops out (hitting the little elephant thing in the eye), but because he had saved Zorg's life, Cornelius had his own life spared, for the meantime, at least.
6. The last one was kind of hard, so this should be pretty easy. Although it was mostly just talked about, the flute in this movie practically stole the show:

Answer: American Pie

'This one time, at band camp...' Need I say more?
7. Alright, admittedly this isn't exactly an inanimate object, but it doesn't think for itself or act of its own accord, so it's making it into the quiz. In what movie did a sixth finger play prominently?

Answer: The Princess Bride

Inigo Montoya was looking for a man with six fingers on his right hand. He had killed his father, and now Inigo was intent on killing him.
8. This movie had two inanimate objects worth mentioning - a stapler and a printer-fax machine thing. What movie is it?

Answer: Office Space

There was, of course, that great scene where they take the printer into the field and smash it to bits. There was also the drama of the stapler, and that 'squirrelly looking guy, who mumbles a lot'.
9. This one's also a tad on the obscure side, but try it anyway. In what movie did a lighter play an important part between the romantic leads?

Answer: Out of Sight

Jack Foley was always playing with that lighter, and when Karen Sisco saw it in the window reflection at the bar, she knew it was him. Ohh.
10. This movie had a rather important pen in it:

Answer: Say Anything...

'She gave me a pen. I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen.' Poor Lloyd. Everything works out in the end, though.
