Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "You hurt the ones that I love best and cover up the truth with lies."

Answer: Bob Dylan

From "Idiot Wind" off his 1974 album "Blood on the Tracks". Amongst the other great songs on this album are "Tangled up in Blue" (my personal favorite Dylan song), "Shelter from the Storm" and "You're a Big Girl Now".
2. "Emotional swords slash my soul and now the pain takes control."

Answer: Papa Roach

From "Time and Time Again" off their 2002 album "lovehatetragedy". Papa Roach was formed in 1993. The name 'Papa Roach' was actually Jacoby Shaddix's (aka Coby Dick) grandfather's nickname.
3. "That the truth of the man maturing in his eyes, all complete in the sight of seeds of life with you."

Answer: Yes

From "And You and I" off their 1972 album "Close to the Edge". Yes was the opening act at Cream's farewell concert at The Royal Albert Hall on November 26, 1968.
4. "Sing loud for the sunshine. Pray hard for the rain. And show your love for Lady Nature. And she will come back again. Yes she will, yes she will."

Answer: Led Zeppelin

From "Down by the Seaside" off their 1975 album "Physical Graffiti".
I don't know how factual this is, but apparently it is said that Led Zeppelin got their name from Keith Moon (of The Who) who said "it'll go over like a lead balloon!"
5. "And now I'm a man, a woman took me by the hand, and you know what she told me...I was great."

Answer: Ringo Starr

From the song "I'm the Greatest" from his 1973 album "Ringo". This album had all the members of the Beatles on it. All members of the Beatles contributed songs and sang on this album. "I'm the Greatest" was written by John Lennon.
6. "Everything I always say and do in your eyes is wrong. Tell me where do I belong in a sick society"?

Answer: Ozzy Osbourne

From "You're no Different" off his 1983 "Bark at the Moon" album. Ozzy was born in Birmingham, UK and his real name is John Osbourne.
7. "It feels so good to reunite. Within yourself and within your mind. Let's find peace there."

Answer: Creed

From "My Sacrifice" off their 2001 album "Weathered". Creed was formed in Tallahassee, FL in 1995. Bassist Brian Marshall came up with the name Creed.
8. "With hell in my eyes and with death in my veins the end is closing in."

Answer: Metallica

From "Jump in the Fire" off their 1983 album "Kill 'em all". This debut album featured the original members of Metallica; James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Chris Burton and Dave Mustaine. Unfortunately, Chris Burton was killed in a tragic accident. Dave Mustaine went on to form Megadeth.
9. "Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my open mind, possessing and caressing me."

Answer: The Beatles

From "Across the Universe" off their 1971 album "Let it Be". This album was the last time the Beatles would together as a band.
10. "If I smile tell me some bad news before I laugh and act like a fool".

Answer: The Who

From the song "Behind Blue Eyes" on their 1971 album "Who's Next". I've heard different stories about who this song was written about. The most interesting (and most likely) story is that it was written for Keith Moon. As the drummer he had to sit behind the other members of the band.

The other members of the band (Roger Daltrey, Pete Townsend and John Entwistle) all had blue eyes. Hence, he was behind blue eyes.
