Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Undrentide is actually a time of day. Around what time is it?

Answer: Midday

The first song on the album, also called "Undrentide", is written and sung in Middle English. According to the translation: A queen fell asleep underneath an enchanted tree. The two maidens she was with didn't want to wake her up and they let her sleep..."That undrentide was all y'done." (Until that midday was over at last.)
2. The "Dance of the Trolls" is purely vocal.

Answer: False

Actually quite the opposite. "Dance of the Trolls" is entirely without vocals. The instruments used are as strange as they are cool: guitar, mandolin, hurdy gurdy, tenor recorder and violin.
3. "_______ Bunting" is about the daughter of the miller who likes to play around. What's her first name?

Answer: Besse

"In April and in May,
when hearts be merry,
Besse Bunting, the miller's daughter,
with lips so red as cherry...".
4. "Aria" was originally released as a single by Delerium.

Answer: True

It's a good song. Although I don't know anything about Delerium, I recommend listening to the song sometime.
5. What does "Salva Nos" mean?

Answer: Save Us

Salva Nos is latin. In this album in particular, the Baebes use a lot of latin.
6. How many purely INSTRUMENTAL songs are there in "Salva Nos?"

Answer: 2

They are:
"So Treiben Wir Den Winter Aus," which I believe is German and
"Binnorie O Binnorie."
7. The song "Adult Lullaby" is sung with instruments.

Answer: False

Sung by Katharine Blake, the musical director, the song is a capella. When translated, the song refers to the suffering of a child's ancestors.
8. "Foweles in the Frith" refers to birds in the what?

Answer: Trees

Translated:
"The birds are in the trees,
The fishes are in the river..."
9. In the song "Adam Lay Ibounden," what did Adam eat that made him bound?

Answer: Apple

The Adam in the song is the Adam in the Bible. According to the song, Adam ate an apple, whereas, if he hadn't, their "Lady would never have been the Queen of Heaven."
10. One of my favorite songs, "Gaudete" translates to "rejoice, rejoice." One of the verses says (and this has already been translated), "Passing through _______ closed gate whence the light had risen, salvation has appeared." Who's "gate" is it?

Answer: Ezekiel's

I'm not sure what this means exactly but I find it interesting and poetic. This song is an exhultant praise to God for the salvation He has given through His Blessed Son. I highly recommend this one as well.
