"Good Lovin" was the Young Rascals' first number one single in the USA. It was one of the the last songs that was not written by the team of Felix Cavaliere and Eddie Brigati. The lyrics to the song read, "Doctor, Mr. M.D. / Now can you tell me what's ailing me?" When music critics heard the song, they immediately dubbed the style "blue-eyed soul." The members of the Rascals were not exactly thrilled with the term, since none of them had blue eyes.

However, "Lonely Too Long" gave the group their second top 20 single in the States; it peaked at number 16 in January 1967.
