Answer: Luke

Luke was the author of his own book, which is the third book of the Gospels. In his book, Luke tells the account of the life of Jesus. Luke 2 is the most recognizable account of the birth of Jesus. Luke mainly wrote his book for a man named Theophilus, but he wanted the book to be read by all believers.

Answer: 1 Chronicles

First and Second Chronicles tell the history of Israel from the time of King David to King Judah. Both books of Chronicles mention the role of priests and worship in the temple. First Chronicles begins with a genealogy of Israel and King David's reign. Second Chronicles covers King Solomon's reign to the fall of Babylon. First and Second Chronicles are generally considered to have been written by Ezra.

Answer: Proverbs

Proverbs is an Old Testament book of sayings and poems mainly written by David's son, Solomon. During his time as king, Solomon spoke three thousand proverbs. Proverbs chapters one through twenty-four are proverbs attributed to King Solomon. King Lemuel had a hand in writing many of the other Proverbs.

The book of Acts tells about the growth of the Christian church in the first century. Luke wrote the book of Acts to begin where the Gospel of Luke ended. Peter is the main person of interest in the first twelve chapters of the book of Acts, while Paul is in the remaining chapters.

Esther was chosen to be in the harem of King Xerxes of Persia and eventually became his queen. The book of Esther takes place in 474 BC, sixty-seven years after the fall of Babylon. Esther was instrumental in saving the life of the Jewish people when they were slated to be killed by Haman. Purim commemorates Esther's courage in saving her people.

The book of Esther was written by her cousin Mordecai.

Answer: Job

Job was a just man who still believed in God even though his possessions, his ten children, and his health were taken from him. The only thing God forbade Satan to do to Job was take his life. When Job's faith held out, God rewarded him with ten more children, his health, and two times his possessions.

The identity of the writer of Job is uncertain, as it could have been Elihu, Job, or Moses.

Answer: 1 & 2 Kings

First Kings contains the reign of Solomon to the division of Judah and Israel. Second Kings ends with the fall of Israel to the Assyrians. First and Second Kings were probably written by either Ezra or Jeremiah during the building of the first temple in Palestine.

Exodus is the second book of the Bible and was written by Moses. The book recounts the story of Moses, leading up to the departure (exodus) of the Israelites from Egypt, and the receipt of the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai.
