1. In 2006, this Philadelphia Phillies player hit safely in 35 games.

Answer: Chase Utley

From June 23 through August 3, Utley had a hit in 35 consecutive games. He batted 153 times and had 62 hits for a .405 average during the streak.
2. In 2002, this lesser known Florida Marlin hit safely in 35 games.

Answer: Luis Castillo

Castillo had a hit in every game from May 8 through June 21. He batted 154 times with 62 hits for a .403 average during his streak.
3. In 1917, this Hall-of-Fame Detroit Tiger hit in 35 consecutive games.

Answer: Ty Cobb

Cobb hit safely in each game from May 31 through July 5. He batted 138 times with 64 hits for a .464 average during this time.
4. Which Philadelphia Phillies player achieved a 36 game hitting streak during the 2005 season?

Answer: Jimmy Rollins

From August 23 through October 2, Rollins hit safely in 36 games getting 61 hits in 161 at bats for a .379 average. Rollins and Utley were the only players in the first 115 years of Major League Baseball to have 35 game hitting streaks in consecutive years (Rollins 2005/Utley 2006)...and they were teammates.
5. Who hit safely in 37 consecutive games playing for the Boston Braves in the 1945 season?

Answer: Tommy Holmes

Holmes had his hitting streak from June 6 through July 8. He had 66 hits in 156 at bats for a .423 average.
6. Which Milwaukee Brewer had a hit in 39 games in a row in 1987?

Answer: Paul Molitor

Molitor's 39 game hitting streak lasted from July 16 to August 25. During the streak he batted 164 times and got 68 hits for a .415 average.
7. In 1911, which Detroit Tiger hit safely in 40 straight games?

Answer: Ty Cobb

Cobb was the first player ever to hit in 40 consecutive games and he's the only 20th century player to have two 35-game hitting streaks in his career. Ty batted 168 times and had 80 hits for an astronomical .476 average during this streak.
8. Who had a 41-game hitting streak playing for the St Louis Browns in the 1922 season?

Answer: George Sisler

Sisler hit safely from July 27 to September 17 getting 79 hits in 174 at bats for a .454 average.
9. In 1978, which Cincinnati Red hit safely in 44 straight games?

Answer: Pete Rose

During Rose's 44-game hitting streak, he batted 182 times with 70 hits for a .385 average. His streak started on June 14 and game #44 was played on July 31. Unbelievably, he was traded to Philadelphia at the end of the season.
10. Who was the New York Yankee who hit safely in an amazing 56 consecutive games during the 1941 season?

Answer: Joe DiMaggio

Joltin' Joe DiMaggio hit safely from May 15 through July 16. He had 91 hits in 223 at bats for a .408 average during "The Streak". He also went 1-4 in the 1941 All-Star game to make it an unofficial 57 game streak.
