Answer: Eddie Gaedel

Eddie was the 3'7" pinch hitter, that St.Louis Brown owner Bill Veeck put in the ballgame to try and draw a walk. This day in 1951 was Eddie's only baseball appearance. He walked, therefore his official at-bat was defunct.

Answer: Braves

Spahn spent 20 years with the Braves from Boston and Milwaukee. He began his career in 1942, then missed 3 seasons due to the war. His 21st season saw him in a Mets and Giants uniform in 1965, his last season before he retired with 363 wins.
3. Whose home run created the most famous asterisk in the record books in Major League history?

Answer: Roger Maris

Maris' 61st home run in 1961, created this one until the great Mark McGwire erased it from the record books. Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs in a 154-game season. When Maris broke that record in a 162-game season, this created the asterisk in the record book.
