Answer: Atlanta Braves

The others listed, were the firsts to reach 30 losses. Although the Yankees began the season strong, as did the San Francisco Giants, the Braves necked out the other league leaders. The Dodgers reached the 30 mark with a 10 game winning streak.
2. Which of the following teams, existed for only one season?

Answer: St.Louis Perfectos

Baseball only saw one season of the Perfectos in 1899, who became the St.Louis Cardinals the next season, and for the rest of the 20th century. The Perfectos had a record of 84-67, for a 5th place finish in the National League of 12 teams. The team was led by player-manager Patsy Tebeau, and the arms of Cy Young and Jack Powell.

In the franchise's 5th season, they took it all by defeating the Cleveland Indians 4 games to 3, with the Marlins winning in it 3-2 in the game seven extra-inning game. It was the Marlins' first season with a record over .500, going 92-70. The team was led by Moises Alou, Kevin Brown, and Alex Fernandez.

Answer: Orlando Cepeda

Cepeda, a 1999 Hall of Fame inductee, played for 17 seasons beginning with the San Francisco Giants. In 1958 he was the National League Rookie of the Year. He also won the league MVP in 1967 with the St.Louis Cardinals. His final home run of 379, came with the Kansas City Royals in 1974.
6. Babe Ruth was the first player to hit 50 home runs twice. Who was the next player to hit 50 home runs twice?

Answer: Jimmie Foxx

The other listed, never hit 50 in a season. Foxx, nicknamed "Double X", hit 58 in 1932 with the Philadelphia Athletics. He doubled his pleasure by hitting 50 in 1938 with the Red Sox. Foxx retired in 1945 with 534 home runs.
7. With what team did pitching great Randy Johnson, begin his career in 1988?

Answer: Montreal Expos

Randy never played for the other teams listed in the 20th century. After his rookie season in 1988 with the Expos, he went to the Mariners in mid-season of 1989. In mid-season of 1998, Johnson was dealt to Houston. After appearing in only 11 games with the Astros, he then became a Diamondback. He retired at the end of the 2009 season as a Giant. Randy had numerous Cy Young Awards.

Answer: Hank Bauer

The others listed, have earned well over 2000 victories, while Bauer didn't make the 600 plateau. Bauer only managed 8 seasons in the Majors, and took the Baltimore Orioles to his only World Series in 1966.
9. Of the great brothers in Hank and Tommie Aaron, who was the oldest?

Answer: Hank

Hank was born on February 5, 1934, 4-1/2 years before brother Tommie. Most fans know what Hank did, and few know that Tommie played only 7 seasons in the big leagues. He joined up with his brother in 1968 on the Atlanta Braves roster. Tommie hit 13 home runs in his career.
10. What team won the 1948 World Series?

Answer: Cleveland Indians

The other teams did not exist in 1948. This was the year of the Cleveland Indians with an All-Star cast. 6 players hit 14 or more home runs, and 3 pitchers won more than 18 games in the season. The Indians beat the Boston Braves 4 games to 2. It would be the last World Series Crown of the century for Cleveland.
