The infamous 1912 game which the Tigers had to field college players when Ty Cobb was suspended and the rest of the players went on strike. This happened on May 18th against the A's in which they bombarded the Tigers 24-2.
2. In 1961, the great New York Yankees won 109 games that season behind the hitting of Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle. What other American League team won 100 or more games that year?

Answer: Tigers

The Tigers won 101 that year and were overshadowed by the Bronx Bombers.

Answer: Jesus Alou

On July 10th, 1964, Alou and the San Francisco Giants did this against the Cubs. Alou had 5 singles and a home run in the game. He provided the 6 pitchers to enter the record books for this one.
