Kevin Milwood began his Major League career in 1997 with the Atlanta Braves and remained in Atlanta unti the end of the 2002 season. In 2003, Milwood was traded to the Phillies. Kevin Milwood graduated from Bessemer City High School in Bessemer City, North Carolina.
2. John Smoltz had an illustrious career as a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves. Which team originally drafted John Smoltz during the 1985 amateur draft?

Answer: Detroit Tigers

Smoltz was drafted by the Tigers as the 574th overall pick in round 22 of the 1985 draft. In 1987, the young Smoltz was traded to Atlanta for Doyle Alexander. Smoltz benefited most from the trade as he became one of the greatest pitchers in Braves' history. Smoltz made his last appearance on September 30, 2009 for the St. Louis Cardinals.
